  1. Also had issues on Sunday connecting to Zwift (not so Swift...). Switched to Rouvy with no issues!
  2. - SRAM AXS XO1 upgrade kit - RACEFACE NEXT R HANDLEBAR
  3. Santa came early this year! A new bike doesn't count unless photographed on the sofa...I now need a bigger sofa If you don't know about Paul Koekemoer on the East Rand, you missing one amazing bike builder/repair shop with a passion for bikes. Thanks Paul for the build and sharing the excitement of a new bike.
  4. I think the sections under the trees flow beautifully! Not the hardest ride but a real fun ride... And there is a pump track... For Me on the East Rand: If I want to train and do some distance = Modders If I want to have a bit of fun with a challenge or two = BRB There are groups that ride to BRB and back from the East Rand. If you include a BRB loop, a cool 90-100km ride
  5. Thanks for that...I wish someone would show me how to get out of the Black diamond section (with the wooden ramps). Finding my way in is easy...finding the way out...I seem to go around and around like a hamster on a wheel.
  6. Think there is a trail walk/run on the 14th and 15th...
  7. Anyone know the condition of the routes at BRB after the rains this week?
  8. Anyone interested, selling my Pyga One Ten. Size is actually a small in Pyga sizing. For someone who always wanted a Pyga, but a medium was too big! Equivalent to a Giant medium. https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/dual-suspension-bikes/1034/pyga-one-ten-small
  9. Can I sit on the cross-bar using the IDT on the downhills??
  10. Did SBR on Sunday with my steel Cotic with 2 "runner" friends testing their bikes before 94.7. Lost the one rider 30 min into the ride (he decided to stop and take a pic) and I went back to check if he was Ok. This meant climbing the hills in the opposite. Apologies to all riding like chop in the wrong direct for 5km... Somehow we missed each other, so turned back and chased the guys catching them on the first big climb. One friends pedal bearing on the bike collapsed just after the climb, so for the next 20km, I nursed him to the big climb near the end. He gave up and decided to walk just before the climb. A very kind chap in a van offer to give him a lift back. 3 hrs later I reach the car. I was shot! 65km and 1220m climbing...According to my Garmin the temp reached 36 deg C. So please check the bearing on your pedals! If you hear a click-click-click sound, it might be those bearings. Not something I check every time I go ride...and no one carries a spare pedal!
  11. Where did you have your accident? Serious? I've come off at 45kph on the 2nd bend on the fast downhill a few years back. Overcooked the corner, back wheel slipped under braking and decide to rather exit the corner 90 deg to the rocky curb, OTB. Was very lucky to land on my back on soft grass...not sure how I missed the rocks. Got away with shin scratches, a burst tyre and a cracked Chain stay... Rode there this morning. Lots of wild life crossing the road, so please keep an eye out! Saw a large blood stain on the road. Hopefully not human!
  12. Would an E-bike be classified as a ride or a drive
  13. I use hydration pack for ALL my rides. I like to stay hydrated even on a 2hr ride... After a few falls on my back OTB, I try keep very little tools and hard objects in my backpack in fear of spinal damage. So I use the bottle cage to store tools and bombs. Have a few versions on Camelbak. For me they bounce around too much. I tried this: https://www.uswe-sports.com/ Holds solid on your back! The inner bladder died after a year or so. Now using the Camelbak bladder in this pack. Fits fine. Not sure who stocks them locally...
  14. Rode BCC yesterday morning. Near the Mealie Fields section in the forest (Tee off No. 12 entrance to the trail), we were stung by a swarm of wasps (we think). We initially thought they were bees, but they were too big for bees. Bee careful! Those twisty turns made it difficult to make a quick getaway!
  15. Bought a Gopro 7 Black for Vic Falls trip with a Spanish colleague. Filmed some nice stuff and took ok pics. I used the voice command on the Gopro to video a bird knocking on my glass sliding door. Then went to Dullstroom and did some riding at one of the resorts that has a MTB trail. The stabilization of the 7 is way better that the Garmin Elite I used. Before the Mrs could not watch more than a minute of the footage on the Garmin before she felt ill (not my riding ). With the Gopro, we sat after every ride and played the complete ride on the TV screen. The stabilization makes a huge difference. I could also use the Gopro Quick story app on the phone to send short edited vids of my ride via Whatsapp. I thought that was cool. I prefer taking a small camera with me on walks and hikes in Spain that fits in my pocket. Just a quick-pic-and-go... I took this pic below in "night mode" With the Gopro &. Pretty cool. For me, it was a good buy!
  16. Agree 100s...Rode there on Wednesday. A few signs are pulled down off the poles sometimes difficult to find the correct route. Trees fallen over the path again. A few wooden bridges looking suspect. Clowns still riding the wrong way around (the old anti-clock direction). Going to be an accident soon. There are some fast downs and someone will be riding up the wrong way...Don't think it's the signs, just people not giving a SH!T...Tried to tell 4 rides they were going the wrong way and all I got was "hello". Really sad, a great place to ride and train. With summer coming, we will sit with the usual overgrown single track. Someone really should take responsibility and care for the course! May need change venue to Rosmary Hill. A bit of a drive, but VERY well kept!
  17. Requested a good price for a shock. Ordered and paid on the 9th Sep. Received the shock at my door on the 12th Sep! Thanks CWC for the sale and good service!
  18. The Cotic would have survived the crash for sure...just saying
  19. In had to watch the video to see what the Rouvy AR was all about
  20. Is there a 1:1 template for this: HOLY RAIL TRIANGLE STORAGE BOX KIT + QUICK-DRAW MULTITOOL ?
