We have more than a sniff at ladies' swimming 100m and 200m breaststroke. I also think we may have sniff at ladies' mountain biking and maybe the men's. The rest, except for the relay team, I am not sure about. Let ius hope.
Start today with rugby 7's. Go South Africa

Cycling accident in Centurion. Down hill from the corner of John Voster and Olievenhoutbosch streets.
Not sure of details as I just drove passed. Pray the cyclist is okay and heals up quickly
So there was another bike jacking this weekend (Sunday morning at about 9am). This time at Fountains Circle on the road.
Be careful out there all
So there were 4 reported incidents in the Pretoria area.
2 were on Saturday in the Pretoria East and Bronkhorstspruit areas.
2 were in the area surrounding LZ Township and Red Barn.
These involved groups of 8 to 12 riders. The crews were armed and dangerous.
Stay away from the following roads: -
R21 (St George's Hotel area)
M18 to and from Red Barn (Red Barn itself is incident free and they have upped their security)
M57 between R21 and M18
Moonlight Road (Link between R21 and M17)
SAPS is onto the case together with security.
1 hour ago, The Ouzo said:what were the other 2 incidents. Some details please.
All 3 incidents are similar in nature.
2 were at the area mentioned above. Last cyclists (dropping off the pace a bit) gets isolated. Walkers suddenly pull out a firearm or knife and hold up the cyclist. They then lure the other cyclists to come back and hold them up as well. They take bicycles, cell phones, wallets, watches, etc. Normally at least one cyclist is injured.
Another incident, similar to above was near St Georges Hotel in Irene

It is by the shooting range near Red Barn on Glen Road

Are there any safe places left to cycle ?
This was only 1 of 3 incidents in that area on Saturday. Please do not ride this road or offroad section.

Where was the prompting and questioning we came to expect from Cart Blanche? The 'water under the bridge' comment was taken as a legit explanation, and the full extend of the blunders made still left as swept under the carpet. Lat night's coverage was just as anti climatic as the last minutes of the comrades itself
I agree. Complete disappointment for all the hype it drew.
Be careful of the flu going around. It is bad.
My daughter had it and the doc said that it leaves everyone with a post viral cough which they are battling to get rid of.
What worked for my daughter: -
ACC600
3 days of antibiotics (the one you take once a day)
The equivalent of Celestamine (2 at night)
Corenza C paracetamol

There is no way there were not back markers chucking down illegal substances for pain, or to get them through ahead of cutoff. I have seen guys doping for 5km park runs. Hell there is so much marijuana abuse in ultra trail I am sure it is likely spilling into the back markers here.
Someone openly admitted on TV yesterday when interviewed that he had chucked down a banned substance to get to the finish because his knee was sore.

Yip. Do not wish to buy a bike as old as my one is now
Thank you. Much appreciated. Will ride my old bike for now and wait it out.
I asked the seller condition and he says great condition, no accidents.
Funny but he cannot tell me the age of the bike!
Here is the problem I have: -
I have a dinosaur of a road bike (Giant). Her wheels are starting to show serious age (i.e. cracking rims).
I either have to: -
1. Rebuild the wheels; or
2. Buy a new bike
I have been selected to represent RSA is the World Championships age group sprint triathlon in Hamburg in July.
What would you do and if a new bike I have already paid out a huge amount towards accommodation and flights, etc. so cannot afford a really expensive new bike so please keep that in mind when pointing me in the direction of possible new bikes.

What would you guys suggest would be the way forward in getting started? I haven't done any sort of proper structured running in the last 14 years or so since my athletics days in school. Idealy I would like to run 1-2 times a week and do 5K runs when I do it, and possibly get that up to doing a 10K when possible.
Okay, lady here not a gent, but can I suggest you try the C25K programme. Once finished you can then ramp up to the 10k programme.
Okay, so I am totally new to this power meter thing.
I have: -
1. Road bike (I use this mainly on the indoor trainer)
2. Mountain bike (mainly used for on road but sometimes off road)
3. Tribike (used for doing triathlons and sometimes in The Cradle, currently using it on road as I have a stress fracture so need minimum force, Voortrekker Monument uphill training, etc.)
4. Polar Pacer Pro
A lot of my tri training is power based so wondering if it is worth getting a power meter . If so, what do you suggest please and what will I require as additionals?

They like you to be there for the week so they can get the best day as far as tides, weather, etc. is concerned.

I'm looking for some advice please!
My daughter swam it last year. I may be able to help.
Year started okay. Training more for triathlons than running. Then in August went on a cruise and ended up running more than cycling or swimming. Came home with shin splints. Rested a while, saw a bio and then was told to go for an easy run. Hello, stress fracture. Only getting back t running now - 20 minutes at very slow pace. So frustrating. At least my swimming has improved 200%

Quick question when you say give up your entry, do you mean you forfeited it or did you give it to someone else?
I gave my entry to somebody else who will do the necessary to transfer to his name.
I am just sad. Have picked up a rather serious injury from triathlons (stress fracture of my tibia) so had to give up my entry. Was so looking forward to this race.

Triathlon is on. Swim was challenging to say the least. Current was really strong which led to a 3 minute swim with the current and 9 minute return (this for the top swimmers).
Wet cobbles are taking their toll, but main contenders are all together.
