  1. For me it was. I got the 120 for 4k so not a massive outlay.
  2. I had a 120mm Fox fork on my '14 Anthem and it was fine at 95kg. I think it did improve the bike going downhill but not by a hell of a lot.
  3. This looks the same, I also have a gravel bike but don't like it. Referring to @cadenceblur bike above.
  4. Conti race king rear and crossking or mountainking front, fast, quick wearing and normally quite expensive but my favorite for XC/marathon type riding.
  5. Check the classified adds, apply filters for aluminum hardtail, your size and budget.
  6. It's strange how things work. In 30 years of business sending out goods around the country we had our 1st parcel go missing recently with The Courier Guy. They did compensate us and we're still using them.
  7. I often hang my bike by the seat at bike parking , sometimes with the dropper fully down, is this a problem?
  8. I can't offer any feedback but try search for previous threads on this topic, there have been a few.
  9. Giant Trance 1 or X1 in the alu frame could be an option.
  10. Joh !! 1 liter per hour will have me stopping every half hour for a leak. 1 x normal bottle about 700ml gets me through a 2 hour ride easily.
  11. If you have a Garmin watch you can set the watch to vibrate alert.
  12. As easy as fitting your cycling garmin, uses the same mount. I've had the Varia Radar only unit since Christmas and simply won't ride without it.
  13. Beaut morning in the bay, must have past you somewhere in other direction.
  14. Fisan paste for babies nappy rash worked wonders for me.
  15. That Silverback Spectra looks in good condition, right size for you.

    Transbaviaans 2022

Reading all the above I accept the fact that I/we were not properly dressed for the conditions. 4 layers of cycling kit(windproof) was wet within about 30km. At CP1 Veros we were so cold we could hardly talk. We kept going until Bergplaas then pulled out at the bottom at the gate 152km in, fortunately we had a farmer friend fetch us and take us to Pakhuis. I must add IMO we were fit/strong enough for the distance but shivering for 10+ hours drained my energy and broke me. Well done to all who finished.
  17. Got my wife the Brezza recently, great little car with ground clearance and all the bells and whistles.
  18. You could also "mullet" the Trance with a 29er fork and wheel, and a dropper if you don't have one.
  19. I went the non surgery route. No effect on my cycling at all. The bone sticks out and is visible to me mostly. Sometimes it clicks but I don't have any pain anymore. I can swim, paddle a surfboard and SUP but my right hand side does not have the same power/leverage as left side. This is a common injury but not the same for everyone. Happened in 2018, I'm 55. Hope that helps a bit.
  20. That Trek is a great bike, no brainer to me between those 2.
  21. I think we are in for a treat weather wise, it's looking great. All the best to everyone tomorrow.
