  1. I also replaced mine a few thousand km's ago and find that they seem to be wearing down quicker than the original Shimano ones are. It doesnt look like I will get anywhere near the same mileage out of these BBBabies. 18000 km on one set of brakepads! That is quite something!

Is his advice not very good?

Lea Holland is a mechanic @ Cycle factory with all sorts of international mechanics qualifications. He reckons that the Rockshoks are the way to go. Not so keen on Fox. There is a guy here at our office who has sent his Terralogic off to Fox 3 times to have seals replaced in less than a year. He weighs about 75kg and doesnt ride hard. SID's comprimise stiffness for weight. Reba World Cups should do the trick.
  4. Ian McCleod is hanging in there too! 5th @ 4:43
  5. Well, hopefully who ever donated skin is OK.
  6. I imagine that they are all a bit bashed up? How many of them were involved? I think that is Willie Engelbrecht and his posse
  7. Got a 'normal' bike with 13000km on the clock. Shimano 105 (9spd) BB is running fine.
  8. With only motorists phoning in, hopefully it doesn't reinforce the fact that some cyclists can be rude, obnoxious, law breaking, arrogant etc etc, and that we are all painted with the same brush. I hope there was some balance by the end of the show.
  9. Pampers wet wipes work well all over the bike. The wife doesn't like the hose method...
  10. 1. Muc-Off cleaner 2. Paraffin 3. White Lightning
  11. The funeral parlour usually cleans the casket for you.... (Sorry, couldn't resist )
  12. Try This: https://secure2.entries.co.za/CycleTourOnline/Pages/General/ViewSeeding.aspx
  13. Found it! Group E What a SCHLEPP!!
  14. How do you see your group? It says that I am seeded, and my start time is 7:05, but no group...
  15. Well done!! I hope they take this up with thier drivers and we get some sort of positive repsonse.
  16. Open Pro's on good hubs put together by a good wheel builder are bomb proof and should last for a long time, hassle free. I weigh 100kg and ride 36 spoke Open Pro's on Ultegra hubs. Love them!
  17. Try this website: http://www.wiggle.co.uk/Default.aspx?Main=CategoryProducts.aspx&Cat=cycle&w=0&CategoryName=Frames%20-%20Road
  18. What time do you ride and what is the route? Also, what sort of speed do you ride at. How many people are you expecting?
  19. There is a similar debate on weight weenies: http://weightweenies.starbike.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=238573#238573 Some interesting answers and opinions there too. There is a certain sex appeal to deep section carbon wheels with tubbies.
  20. EISH! Are tubeless tyres so good that they are worth R500.00 a puncture? Are they a good idea for ordinary joe's? I mean people who race, but don't get team cars and road side support with spare wheels etc. I wouldn't want to use them for training etc. I was reading up on the pro's and con's of clinchers vs tubbies.(http://www.sheldonbrown.com/tyres.html). Interesting reading!
  21. How does one fix a punctured tubby? You surely don't throw it away and buy a new one?
  22. HAHAHA, I know Ruscar, apart from the fact that she is a VERY good physio indeed, you are contractually oblidged to say that anyway!
