  1. Diamonds are hard/ MTB races are difficult (depends who you ask of course).
  2. Right?! To chain wax or not to chain wax?
  3. Harsh word to use IMHO. I don't know the feeling that will consume me if I drive over someone, but it's either run for the hills or stop my car and check on the person I just run over. I completely understand his/her reaction. We need to get his/her side of the story too. But I believe justice will be served. Horrible mistake was made.
  4. Took delivery of my "new" SS in the course of the week (thanks NM Meyer). Thinking of a few modifications, some guidance/suggestions will be appreciated. Chain tensionerBetter brakes (these standard brakes are horrendous)SS chainBlack gripsLeave the wheels white or get decals?Leave the white tires on?Drop bars or as they are?
  5. Guy somewhere in the classifieds selling Mystique carbon wheels with built-in Powertap. Winner.
  6. From what I've experienced it's the maintenance manager in control of, you guessed it, maintenance. Speak with them instead of the club manager. As with protocols, this is South Africa, where reactive maintenance is at the order of the day.
  7. LOL, same bike. The standard wheel that come with the Reacto are 35mm alu wheels but are plenty heavy. They roll beautifully though. I bought some carbon wheels and bonus, they had Powertap too! My honest opinion - they flex, they roll superbly, they brake like poo, the weight advantage isn't as big as one might hope, they accelerate even better than they roll. I thought I was going to fly up the hills, I didn't. They look the business. My honest opinion, it really depends on the area you train and race in. Incline dominant topography, you're better suited to some premium alu wheels like Mavics or Shimano Ultegra wheelset.
  8. Good for you! I hope the buyer knows what he or she is in for in the Epic!
  9. UGLY bike. Money doesn't buy you style. But whatever makes you come 26th in your bunch sprint.
  10. RIP Nino. The killer knows what they have done, and they'll live with that for eternity. Please keep us posted.
  11. A good afternoon to all the Hubbers! I currently do not have insurance on my baie sukkel. I have seen a few crashes (actually, the result of said crashes), and it's making me nervous. So, what is the most cost effective way to cover all my cycling equipment? I know that CSA sanctioned events cover you up until a certain amount, but not certain if that is exclusively for medical expenses. I'm looking for COMPLETE cover that covers every possible scenario. Thanks!
  12. Ultegra is the best transmission. End.
  13. Mapmyroute very popular too. Strava has its own one too.
  14. I'd like to know how many people load the Course before hand.
  15. Based on the previous year. 2017 event route saved as Course and downloaded to device.
  16. Boet, that's some SERIOUS running. But we work in metric here . I understand their case. 9000 points is the absolute max, because each individual event is on the extreme "side of the distance scale. In all seriousness, We all know that Vitality is actually targeting the couch potato to get more active, not to get the already active even more active. I'm sorry to break it to you, but they know exactly what they are doing.
