  1. Silver/raw csixx speedring to complete the look👀
  2. Ok ok.. 40 going on 41 197cm (96cm inseam) size 13-14 UK shoe 87kg XL mtb’s 64cm+ road/gravel bikes Metal head, but i’ll listen to anything good.
  3. First world problems… i buy bikes like I have to buy shoes… Ask what they have in the biggest size🤣 XL/S6 some xl’s are smaller than others too…so i shop for 520+ ish reach If they existed and could fit in frames…id be able to use 300mm droppers lol. Have 210mm one now and it is still ~100mm from being slammed.
  4. @BaGearA ps, csixx cage fitsg waiting on the lg700 casette. That aircon place doesn't stock them locally so did what any normal person would do….get it yourself. Got the mech and shifter locally at 50% off…so far R3000 all in🤣
  5. WHAT!?!? You are in for a treat then if doing the full ps: forest frenzy only gets opened on events. Not ridable on normal days. The rest are. Steep rocky and some flowey fun
  6. And just like that: https://wcenduro.co.za Go go go!! For the full: Training Camps, Freeride>Supers, Forest Frenzy, Revised, Mast>BR1>BR2>Happy Hops For Lite : Training Camps, Freeride>Supers, Forest Frenzy
  7. On that note, this also almost happend to witfontein last year if you recall. (Getting approval to host an event from the city/forestry overlords)
  8. Its after pay day for most (28th) and im sure if it gets pushed for whatever reason they’ll allow entries right up to the morning. Its the worst kept secret where it will be, everybody has known for more than a month. It will sell out again. The council red tape is out of their control and they are expecting approval shortly (i have it on good authority)
  9. Agree, they do a decent enough job on the gram (the only reason i have it) and we try and do our best to circulate around internally and on here. But it is what it is i guess. They still sell out at this stage according to organizers. This one is apparently having some administrative speedbumps related to council permits or something. They are obviously too pre-occupied with politicking at the moment lol. anyway, some new sponsors on board and the previous one at hoogies was well run, even with the unfortunate incident on stage 3. you should come do one again! We can suck together!
  10. @V18 says my hand might turn out like this though? also, i only like these things if i can do them with you @BikeGenie…in 30* + heat?
  11. Maybe we have a daisy chained, piggyback Friday thread after all… Pitchfork mob.. ASSEMBLE!!
  12. @Nick, it’s clear many of BH pics get re-appropriated for dodgy dealings away from the actual site. Yes this example is different as the pics are lifted from another site too. But wondering if there is a way to implement some kind of watermark or something?. Would it even help though. Don't know. On a more gloomy note, heard on the news the other day of two brothers being shot and killed in PE, responding to a dodge advert.
  13. Off to take a cold shower….. 😒
  14. bikehub overlords noticing an exponential increase in DTswiss searches in classifieds…
  15. Torque wrenches are obviously good for consistent settings, but especially on things like linkages or other areas that need to move freely, i find that even when setting to recommended torque, its better to go by feel too to make sure it’s good. That feel is obviously something that comes with experience too. No point in setting something at say 14NM and it’s ever so slightly binding. Yes the spec is technically right but its not optimal. You’ll cook the bearings anyway that way. No one bolt is perfectly similar. Even grease on threads can affect how much torque it needs. You might think you are at 5NM but you are prolly less. - Free, not too loose, just loose enough so its all nice and loosey goosey. No torque wrench has that setting. Feel it like you so a headset lol. same with bar controls, even on carbon. Just tight enough. Not too tight. But tight. Also, ignore Sram’s 54Nm recommendation on cranks unless you own a 2m extender or cut your cranks off each time. I make them tight…just a few white knuckles. And never have an issue. same with pedals.
  16. Does this mean the chains are ignorant, non-committal, or feel that the correct direction is just unknowable? Do they just not believe in a right (or wrong) direction, or that a direction even exists? Is there even a cassette? What is a cassette even?
  17. But seriously, this totally aligns with how these ‘old boys’ operate at golfbat clubs too…checking everything from shoe soles to the silk content in your salmon shirt, to the trim level of your BMW - before allowing you in. no BMW? Sorry peasant, no entry.🤣
  18. Those kind of people should just stop. Heard it has even happened to the Starkes, on their own farm before…. imagine riding around on your own trails, that you built and maintain, and some ex golfer asks you where your club board is haha. Must be hard not to go fetch the Rottweilers and escort said person off the farm.
  19. As many of us will agree to, Conties probably carries the whole of the network on its back at this stage imo. If it were to go away for whatever reason, there wont be much left at this point in time for intermediate riders. The rest are all a bit tired (by their own admission too, trails are admittedly old) and it is becoming harder and harder to justify the membership fee and yearly increase compared to what you get for not much more on the winelands board. I find myself riding stellenbosch side a lot more these days for that reason alone. But back to Conties. Something for everyone there and it promotes progression. Theres a reason why its always busy too. My only wish for Conties would be another elevator up to Rhino 1, Revised so it wasn't such a slog to get up there. Would love to do those more than once on a day. Bloemendal upper - ‘Daler is a nice trail, one of my fav, but again, unless you are on an e-bike…its unfeasible doing it more than once . Bloemendal lower is only good for a beer after a ride imo. The new Veer factor bits over the rock roll, over the gaps are OK for some superficial fun but thats about it.
