    Why?

knew you'd come around, cant wait to comment on adverts again

    Why?

they make money from this site purely off traffic and ads. how else? (other than sponsors who pay for virtual spreads etc?) otherwise they would have implemented a type of paypal/ebay structure long ago and sold bikehub to amazon and be billionaires by now imo. even if they made the transaction fee 0.5% (considering the sales numbers they release at the end of each year) if it is indeed all the 'real' users who only buy and sell on here, and not us moegoes with pitchforks, someone is going to see that gap and boef those users by making it more secure and easier to buy and sell....and leave us lot to continue bickering on here, since we ad absolutely zero value anyway. (I agree) anyone up for getting a startup off the ground in the next few weeks? we have time. meetings will be via skype.
  3. in peak hours when riding a bike between obz and woodstock i use this route if you want to avoid the most madness of Albert and/or Victoria road. i live in the area. relatively safe....and some 'sightseeing' along the way.
  4. watch how EVERYONE will want to ride front of pack now. news just in: Covid-19 kills off wheel sucking
  5. the first time i saw a dropper work i thought "why is it not just suspension with a type of lockout too?" but that would mean the bike industry would have to give you something that does more than one thing and is not proprietary in its function....and that would mean they would be loosing out of selling you something else (read new and improved and premium) for the other/second function lol

    Why?

this thread is proof that removing comments from classifieds was a fail. It is THE REASON why we need them back. would mods rather a separate thread be created every single time Or that other threads be bombarded with adverts and comments on offending adverts.? That basically makes their reasons regarding the moderation of comments in adverts a moot point...since they are having to moderate them here regardless. it is much of a muchness then isn't it?? EDIT: OP should PM a complaint to mods about comments on his advert compromising the sale of his item lol. I maintain....new bikehub does not have classified comment functionality built in....thats why they were "removed" and that is why it is being touted as "more betterer" to not have them.
  7. more worrying is that event organisers lied about Italians not coming over this year.... ...and that he was basically in my start group... ...although he was probably in Simonstown by the time I crested NMBlvd
  8. ill take my chance in a taxi before trusting a Boet to actually use his fricken sweat towl.... gyms are like kindergartens...plague incubators. Covid-19 or not.
  9. also had to manually submit. i checked last week Wednesday and for some reason it's not listed as one of the points events this year. honestly cant remember if it used to be. Got my 1500 points 3 days later....got me a play on the board game and bagged the 350 miles for the first time ever haha. lucky pick.
  10. but they need to match your brakes....and rotors?
  11. i get it, i really do...contrary to what some may think they know. I have also competed at national level while working a 16h a day professional job, having to travel to other provinces on friday nights, to be ready on saturday mornings, do the thing...just to drive back on sunday night to be ready for work on monday morning again. Most of the time I did the 'spannering' after finishing what needed to be done for work 9pm at night....be up until 2 or 3, sleep.... and go to work at 7. i know the dedication it takes for an amateur believe me. i'm also know the guy personally who has been dominating the Munga trail run for the past few years....he's a 'semi pro' too for that matter.
  12. id go as far to say it might be considered an insult to the olympians who actually really spent that amount of time or more building up and prepping for the olympics (no offence directed at you ChrisF)....which might also get cancelled. no THAT, is some real hurt....because for some of those people, it might be their only chance if you consider some of their back stories and circumstances thay overcame to make it to the olympics. bat alas. what do i know...i'm not an olympian and i have been clinically diagnosed on a bicycle forum to lack the ability to feel empathy and am therfor a psychopath
  13. made me think of this scene from that Benchwarmers movie haha... "WHO DID THIS!??!"
  14. see above edited post just to be sure? if they fit your frame they are boost.
  15. 110 (front and 148 (rear) is boost. the others aren't. I also have a boost set and the front has 110 printed on them and the rear has 148 printed on. before I had a purple set of non boost ones and they had nothing printed on. do they fit the same frame? are you sure the "non boost" ones dont have the conversion end caps on to make them boost? EDIT: sorry just realised you implied you baught a whole hope wheelset. in that case the hope hubs might look different only in branding. the noise difference might only be due to the fact that the new black ones are still packed with grease. they will get loader.
  16. don't want to feed the troll any further, but my initial reaction to it was that it was probably meant to be read in the fashion of: "go take a swim with the sharks"... or "go jump off a building"..... as in "go take a bike tour through Covid-19 infested europe"....
  17. agree. people seem very entitled. The cancelled events suck and might seem like over reactions at this stage with the cycle tour happening just a week ago.....but what a lot of people seem to be ignorant to is that these events are being postponed because none of the sponsors/event organisers want to risk being the ones held accountable should their event be pinpointed as an epicentre of an outbreak, because they were to precious or proud to cancel it. At this stage no one knows....it could just be totally over blown or it could be way worse. Best bet is to play it safe - most probably as per the recommendation from local health departments. it is alo imo not necessarily the scare of the virus itself causing all this but rather the worry of the strain it will place on the health system shouldit get out of hand. if 100k+ people catch it bad and get pneumonia , and need beds in icu...what happens to all the other people with way worse things going on than some 'overhyped' flue? They need to take all this into consideration. WAY bigger things are getting cancelled all around the world than some 'silly' mtb race or triathlon. at this stage i'll put a bet on the Olympics being next....hell, the torch wont even make it around the globe.
  18. this morning after the Australia grand prix got cancelled (with the season stalled indefinitely it seems) someone made the suggestion that they should make all the drivers race each other in an e-sports version of the championship on one of the sims and broadcast that instead. I'd watch it lol
  19. on a serious note...anyone know if Covid-19 can be transmitted via farts?.... i was behind this group of poms on the m3 who had the afterburners on full blast.
  20. with all the fast europeans? ps...i started smack bang between all the internationals. i'll let you guys know when I start craving brains
  21. or maybe just too late.... guess we'll know in 2 weeks lol
  22. also some talk in this thread. might be the case. might not. as with all the other sporting events globally...it could change by the hour. https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/183294-cape-epic-or-bikepacking-in-europe/page-17
  23. on the bright side, you can absolutely destroy w2w now and leave no match unburnt?
  24. oh ok. yes. if you say so. cant argue with that can I
