At the main gate they pull you over and give you a visitor sticker. They ask if you have your ID and then you park a few 100 meters away, go through the breathalyzer test, into a small security office and they show you where to go. I sat for about 10 minutes before I dropped my forms off and waited about 5 minutes to collect my form when collecting. There were two other cyclists waiting for their photo to be taken for security purposes. I'm not sure how long that took as I was already on the system. Hope this helps.

Hi Hubbers, I must agree with Rusty. Had a pleasant experience dropping off my forms and then collected my permit the next day. Officials very helpful and friendly. The breathalyzer had me confused though😁 I was already on their system so did not have to wait for any other photo to be taken. I went in the Duynefontein gate on Sunday and the guards were quick and pleasant.

Man, Knysna could be a mud fest. My old v-brakes terrified me in the mud???? Lekker memories but boy, I suffered every year.

Haha. Thank goodness I was in a car. They were going to fast for me to keep up on a bike. The photo was taken from the backseat. I was too busy driving to notice any......????????????

I was on my way to my daughter’s graduation in Stellies on Wednesday and was passed by Pauline Ferrand-Prévot and Julian Absalon. I was wondering if the Stellies locals have seen any other pro mtbers in the area?

Well done to Robyn de Groot on her third place. Can’t believe how poor the uci coverage was on YouTube though. Little cycling shown. The commentators were just waffling on in German and switched to English once in a while!!

Nice. You’re going to love your machine. Have it set up for your riding style and play around with the suspension settings. This can make a huge difference to your ride. Let us know what you think of the bike after a few rides.

I own one, and it is a really good bike (IMO). If the price is right, you're getting a full carbon bike, carbon hoops and a bulletproof GX12-speed groupset. The Maestro susp has been discussed at length- nothing fancy, it just works. I find the grey and black rather striking to look at too. I agree fully with this comment. Awesome bike and I fitted the Lyne double bottle holder as I didn't want a bottle holder clamp on the carbon seatpost. This has worked well for the past 3 months. Enjoy the bike!

R425 for 66km- yikes. Used to love this race but sadly no longer for me.

I am also battling to get Strava to sync. Every time I mail Momentum, a different person replies to my mail. I have sent screenshots and files to these people but am still not getting any results. Only my last 4 activities have not synced though. If anyone knows the correct mail address to mail these files to, please post it on the hub.

Yep, Frank has helped me out on a few occasions. He has awesome DIY skills and doesn't mind if you sit on his wheel after you're blown! That's when you weren't even part of his ride group. Very friendly and goes the extra mile. +1.

I feel your pain! After seven bike shops tried, a new cable and housing every time, and still my GX would not shift properly. Eventually bought a new hanger for my Giant Anthem and new derailleur but still have shifting hassles. I took the SRAM chainring off and after careful checking with the guys at Lyne, bought the correct oval chainring for my bike. It still has shifting hassles! Good luck!
