  1. off the top of my head, making the longer spring fit, will effectively be preloading it. If you have a linear rate coil, the preloading won't effect the spring rate. but preload in general makes the shock less compliant wrt small bumps. Also, if the longer spring has more turns with the same gauge wire, then it will reduce available travel negating any end of stroke compliance available via the bump-stop, assuming the shock has one.
  2. binged it hard. and it was damned good. I must say, Russian portrayal of the future seems more believable than the western interpretations, and their CGI is crazy good. Mad props to the lead actress. She nailed that role.
  3. so you need a 3D printer to replace a chisel? jibes aside, that's pretty neat
  4. cynical perspective: Loris hero worships Loic. spesh knows this, Loic knows this. So Loic pulls him back under his shadow, just when Loris is starting to prove he is The Danger man to Loic's dominance. The Rumor mill that is Rob Warner, has it that Loris is going to a square-shaped brand. But specialized, or instagram account named Specialized, did 'welcome' Loris when he posted his exit announcement.
  5. 2 pieces. top half and bottom cover. You are just worried about downward vertical support, so the bottom can just be a cosmetic plate. Then you can have simple, straight dowels. no need for fancy alignment so things slide on just ride. Also the bottom plate gives you a chance to add and hide wiring for undercounting strip lighting. and it's servicable if required.
  6. it's not so much a particular problem area. Just the general aspect of retrofitting weather sealing stripping to the jams. I've found that the stick-on stuff tends to not stay stuck. Yes, the finger should rightfully point toward the lack of surface prep.
  7. what sort of weather proofing/stripping do y'all apply retrospectively to woodframed windows and doors, that works? i'm looking for weather stripping that is housed in a recess. I don't like the lack of aesthetic appeal that goes with the stick-on stuff.
