  7. Hi Guys: Just some questions around rules of racing in the Epic (I have no clue about these things): 1) Avancini said something about Scott Sram got help from their back up team's back up team. What help can Pro's receive and from whom? 2) Looks to me that Annika and Anna was sitting behind Team Summit for most of yesterday (did no work) and then just shot past in the end. Is that how it is done or do the teams work together and then go for broke at the end. Looks to me that is what happened with Kross and Pyga, they worked together and then went for a sprint. Would love to know what us the unwritten rules about these tactics. Thanks
  8. Interesting read thanks. Who is Johan Bornman?
  9. Hey Griffin: Where do we ride this weekend to sneak a view and also help if needed? In other words where are the stages...
  10. Not to forget about the Spionkop ascent and descent.....that drop down Spionkop into Emseni remains my favorite piece of track. Up was a different story...
  11. Wannabe: This was your exact post to me last year when I entered my 1st one and asked what to expect, and you were NOT wrong. Amazing experience. Serious FOMO at the moment so 2020 here I come. To those that are riding, this is the 10th Edition so I am sure it will be a little bit more special. Enjoy.
  12. Thank goodness I thought I was the only one Now I have read the thread and now I am even more in the dark....
  13. 125kg to 86kg. That is pretty amazing! You must feel great?
  14. 2 things worked for me: 1) Bike setup: I had a setup done 2 years ago en then one 3 months ago. Different people, different setup, same bike. Last set up made a massive difference- front wheel used to wander, now it stays put as my weight is so much better balanced across the bike. 2) Ride the rivet: Like most have said weight forward on the saddle, relax the hands and let the legs do the work.
  15. Smoked for 20 years and Allan Carr course helped me to quit. I have quit now for almost 10 years and it is amazing not to smoke. There is no argument in favor of smoking. It is just an insane nicotine addiction that can be beaten. I had to get my head around the fact that nicotine is a very addictive substance and it was ruling me. All the other stuff around the habit of smoking was just that...stuff. Physically you cannot crave a cigarette unless you smoke one, then the nicotine monster wakes up and you want more. Once the nicotine is out of your system you physically cannot crave it but now your head tells you that you are craving. Vicious circle! Good luck if you are trying to quit. It is worth it. Oh yes, and you will get sick as your sinuses and lungs are starting to clear themselves after years of abuse. It is what it is.
  16. Some very witty and sharp comments on here...Loving it thanks
  17. The Grabadoo is a great ride/race. When I am there I do not miss it. Will be doing it again this year. Mostly gravel but super vibe and a beautiful ride. Enjoy
  18. Hi: Where can one find more details. I went to the website but cannot see the dates, routes or cost. Thanks
  19. I am 90kg plus and I set up my bike with 2 new Saguro's for J2C this year. 3 punctures in my rear wheel in 2 days on stages 6 and 7. I never get punctures so I took the Saguro off and I am back to Maxxis Ikon at the back. Very happy with the grip and roll of the Saguro at the front though.
  20. Thanks for posting this. I keep on committing I will leave the electronics and then I strap it on again. I will definitely take your liberating suggestion.
  21. Yip, also curious about the romantic break up, what exactly has changed now since the ownership change?
