  1. Beautiful Paarl Nature Reserve. Sadly the roads got some heavy damage due to the rain, resulting in some very technical terrain. It was quite a daunting experience for me. Nonetheless a good day on the bike with some bruised egos. man_down.mp4
  2. Excited to test it out on my short commute back home today.
  3. I saw that, would like to test it out when I get the unit. The best gift I got was those pair of NoNoise earplugs, cannot live without it for longer trips. For my short commute, I don't need them, don't experience any ear ringing luckily. I must say, I am very impressed with my helmet, don't experience too much wind noise either.
  4. That is also true and won't deny that. I am getting it more specially for our group rides since we have almost five other riders with the Cardo units. There was countless times on our previous trips were I wanted to say something to the rider up front or back, or ask when we can stop for a coffee and something to eat. And for the solo trips once in a blue moon, I can listen to my favourite podcast or playlist. Now that I think of it, navigation can work as well, since you will able to hear the turn-by-turn notifications.
  5. Cannot take credit for that photo, was grabbed from the InterWebs. Will try my take on it when I get the unit installed on my helmet.
  6. I treated myself with a Black Friday/Christmas Gift thanks to a friend giving me a very good deal. Cardo Packtalk Bold
  7. Safe miles @Thug Beautiful bike.
  8. Not going to lie, since I did some cycling back in my days, I can fully confirm that motorcycling is indeed cheaper.
  9. Sharing on behalf of a friend, he makes 3D printed helmet brackets: http://www.bike3d.co.za/ If you decide to order from him, you can tell him that Andrew_Smith sent you.
  10. For what's it worth, we wanted to stop with coffee on the bikes at around 06:30. We managed to find a Seattle Coffee shop at Caltex Boland garage: https://goo.gl/maps/s4moRF4eoQeKdRCW8 Of course this will be a bit more tricky for cyclists (busy road and close to Kayamandi, so I'll recommend doing Hels Climb and by the time you get down, one of the local shops should be open since I see most open at 07:00.
  11. Sorry for derailing the thread but is there perhaps a place to get coffee in Stellenbosch before 07:00 Saturday morning? I see most places only open at 07:00.
  12. Got a Kappa Universal Screen for the bike - work wonders! Now I can comfortably sit at 120kph+ without the wind pushing me around.
  13. There you go Hairy, I see your taste is improving greatly! We had a look at her when I serviced my G450X - very fancy. Check out this website: https://www.joelsmotorcycles.co.za/ The owner is an ex-BMW sales manager with 19-years experience behind his name. Primarily focus on BMW bikes and with a few other brands for time-to-time. Low mileage bikes with good pricing.
  14. She's a big girl - coming in at 217 kilo's - which is in GS territory. Beautiful machine nonetheless.
  15. From our WhatsApp Group this morning. What an awesome collection! Beautiful HP2 and G450X.
  16. Playing in the sand - quite a experience.
