They have a monopoly on the sports in the country. The rest of the channels no one really cares about anymore as everyone either streams via Netflix, Disney, Apple TV etc. I think most people would subscribe to a sports subscription at a reduced price but they will never do that as they know that they will lose all their premium subscribers. But because they have the licensing for the sports, they kind of force it upon you as there is no other option.

I think their premium package should be at the price of the compact package at R299. At this price i would 100% subscribe.  Alternatively, give us a full sports package for this price.

Problem is that buying the sports rights and having the presenters, pundits, talk shows etc. makes up a massive proportion of their cost base so a "Sports Only" package would be like 80-85% of the cost of the premium package.

So we've had Netflix for a little while now, although I find myself more on Disney+ these days.

Thor: Love and Thunder - IMDb gave it a 6,2/10, I give it an 8/10. My only gripe is that it's too short, although I might just give it a 2nd watch.

My only gripe with it was that it was not as good as Ragnarok. Not even close.

There are a few posts about gas geysers on this thread, but I didn't see any recommendations.

Can anyone share their experiences on size/output and brands to go for or avoid ?

Another thing to consider is that a lot of the bigger ones (like 25l/min and up) need a power point for the igniter so they won't work when there's load shedding unless you have a backup power system of some sort.

As Frosty said, a changeover manifold and two gas bottles is not necessary but it's 100% the way to go. Nothing worse than running out of gas mid shower and not having another bottle you can switch to to finish.

I've got two geysers. A 16l/min Ariston geyser that runs on D-cell batteries for the kitchen, laundry and maid's quarters. Batteries last for ages (I've had it for almost two years and I replaced the batteries for the first time 2 weeks ago), no issues heating the water as long as you only run one tap at a time. I've also got a 26l/min Paloma that needs to be plugged in and it's an absolute beast, no issue heating the water to 60° in the middle of winter while running two showers at the same time.

I've not had any issues with either of them so I'd happily recommend either based on my experiences.

I have a Garmin Fenix Solar 7s, and I have wondered if anyone has tested (any) of their Garmin Solar devices to see how much (long/time) sun exposure is really needed for a full or 'good' charge?

The solar on these devices isn't really meant to charge the battery, it's intended to extend battery life while doing an activity. You might be able to charge the battery if you leave it in the sun long enough but I'm pretty sure it will take AGES.

I am also very happy to see a skin repair product, I received a few sachets of a particular product at events some years ago but not recently. I could never find the product commercially available so this specific product will fill that gap nicely.

I'm definitely going to give this repair cream a try because I love their chamois cream but my current go-to is baby bum cream (Sudocrem specifically)

Risky, it may hurt when you ship those new wheels and they won't release without a code. It's not easy to get a code, long process.

Not really unless they have changed the process recently. I got mine just before COVID. Went to the Customs office at OR Tambo, submitted the forms, got my importers code a week or two later.

You get access to their local addresses for wherever you are buying from. So if I buy something in Germany I buy it as myself with local billing address, but with the AGS German address and they forward to South Africa

There isn't a China address for AGS though hence his question. Although I see that they have a Hong Kong option which might work..

Hi guys. I have a technical question. If I opt for the 5kva with 1 x 5.12wkh battery (no pv's), I understand that during load shedding I'm limited to using certain appliances only at the same time, up to eg 5000 watts combined (1c battery). My question is...if there is no load shedding, can I run more than this...ie can I run eg 7000watts at the same time as I do now when using normal Eskom power? Or, does all power have to still go through the inverter and I'm limited to 5000 even though there is no load shedding? My non-essentials will be stove, geyser, pool-pump. During non-load shedding, I want to be able to use microwave, kettle, airfryer etc which are all on the essentials - at the same time?

    Guidance would be appreciated.

Short answer is that 5KVa inverters can pass through more than 5KW (usually around 8KW but it will depend on the inverter). That limit only applies to the essential part of the circuit. Anything on non-essential should still run on Eskom without a limitation.

Long answer is that all that depends on the make and model of your inverter and how it's wired in to your DB.

  9. This feels a lot like looking for a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. You never "need" to cross chain that badly. You can get pretty much the same ratios on the large chainring further up the cassette. Also as someone else mentioned, switch on full or partial syncro-shift and the system will automatically move you to the equivalent next gear ratio even when it shifts at the front.

Currently exploring the idea of getting a dropper post for my 2019 Norco Charger 1. It seems that external dropper posts have gone out of fashion, and getting an external routed one is not a viable option - there simply are not and the new ones are out of my budget.

So my question thus - I have seen a few nice second hand droppers in the Hub, but all internally routed. This means I will need to drill a hole somewhere for the cable to enter the seatpost tube - the routing from the handle bars to the BB basically will be running externally.

    Any advice will be appreciated

They have externally routed dropper posts for R3,400.

I think someone else mentioned them as well

Side note I'm now running Priority load 99% of the time.  When in Priority load the inverter seems to run off solar and battery at night if on Battery Priority the inverter runs on "solar" in the day if there is excess available and AC power at night.  My personal observation and deduction.

That setting shouldn't make a difference to what it runs on at night. Mine is set on Priority Battery and runs on solar during the day and the battery at night until I get down to the specified SOC. My guess is that you have the SOC settings too high overnight or you are not using the timer.
