    ON AVERAGE, WHAT DO YOU SPEND ON: Cycling Jersey Bib short Im doing some market research on cycling apparel, the reason for this is, I love riding with nice fitting & high quality gear, but these do come at a price. I just received a order from a major brand and to be honest, it was disappointing because i paid a premium for this item and expected great quality from them, so i want to see if there is a price range that my fellow cyclists are willing to pay for epic quality, a realistic price point. Im on a mission to see if a solution is possible to make great quality gear accessible to most riders.

    Hi Folks Im going to be in SA mainly around Durban for 10 days end of May beginning of June and planning to do 5 or 6 days cycling around the Half Ironman event in Durban. I am struggling to find a Bike shop / Someone or somewhere in Durban that can rent me a road bike. I'm 5'11'' and am cycling a 43cm Virtual top tube Treck. Any help at all would be appreciated. It is way to expensive to fly my bike over. Mental costs altogether as i will take three flights. Thanks folks Barry

    Hi all. I'm new to the group. I'm currently cycle touring around South Africa and hoping that maybe someone has done a similar ride. I'm looking for a route from Johannesburg to Durban and plan to cycle it over a few days, I have found a few and have made some but not sure what they will be like and if the areas they go through are safe or not, it needs to be an alternative to the N3 as its very dangerous and I think its illegal to ride on highways here. I don't mind any distance, dirt roads, hills etc, if they include camping spots along the way then thats awesome to or I will find places to camp. I will be riding with a loaded bike and will have all my camping gear with me. Thanks for any advice, it will be highly appreciated.

    So with the swim leg of this years event being cancelled, do you think that i will hinder peoples desire for next year or has it made you change your mind perhaps? Being a mere fortnight after the comrades i doubt we will see Superwoman Wostmann there this time around.

    Hi all. Hope there is someone on here in the industry that can help or recommend someone who can. Looking for a supplier of odd size o-rings and gaskets in Durban. Size I'm currently looking for is 2mm x 30mm round rubber. For end caps on sealed bearing hubs.

    Coming to kzn to reign, lank. I know there's a thing called trailforks mabru, but I'm looking for local insights china, like out of the many trails, which to shred and which to ned, flanders.     Have entered Ironman in April. I am looking for some people (possibly a group of ladies) to do some long training rides on a Sunday with. Am not the strongest cyclist on the world and most groups are either super fast or go out on a Saturday. Most of the cycling clubs don't cycle far enough (am needing about 4hrs) I am based in Westville but don't mind going up to Hillcrest or into Durban

    So with the Amashova and 94.7 fast approaching, I need to spend more time riding serious hills. Climbing is my biggest weakness. I can ride flats well, my body is able to handle distances of 80-100km so thats not a major concern now. Now looking at the Amashova profile, and with the first 15km being UP I need to prepare for that. Where in Durban would you train hills that will help make a difference ? Something that I could do on a weekend. I live in Merewent and started riding in Bluff but there isn't any loooong climbs around here. Can 1 ride the Amashova route or part of it while still being safe from traffic ? And I have to add this as I know it will come up... I am working on my weight loss... 10Kg down already since April and pushing hard to get to about 85kg by end September. Currently 95kg. Thanks.

    Good day, So I have entered the 2015 Amashova cycle challenge. Unfortunately I cannot go alone due to financial difficulties. So, what I need is a travel partner. I do not pay for patrol or toll gates, so that is covered. I basically need some one that will help with "padkos" and accommodation. I will go down on the Saturday and come back on the Monday. I can tow a bike tailor if needed, but also have a bike rack that can take 3 bikes. The arrangements for the accommodation will be the responsibility of whoever decides to be riding shotgun. Please let me know if your are interested in tagging along. thanks

    So I URGENTLY need to replace the five-year-old chainset on my fixie (flip-flop hub with both cogs pretty trashed). Anyone ever had any good experiences with ordering parts through any stores in Durban? So far I've been terribly disappointed and I'm going to try make a plan to bring them in from Cape Town, but I just thought I'd check if there was a simpler option... [Pic of one of the cogs. I'm starting to feel a bit unsafe.]

    Tonight we ride! Critical Mass - The Rise of the 300! (25 Apr) Don't succumb to 'Durban Syndrome'.. this only happens once a month and you know it's always a lot of fun, especially if we ride slow While the rest of the country is freezing their butts off and wearing Uggs everywhere, we're on our bicycles loving the cooler breeze! Also... Tour Durban on Monday! The 45km looks like a good time, easy ride to Umdloti and back. What a rad long weekend we have in store. Let's get it started riiiiiiiiiiiiight! Oh.. rugby.. not a problem if you park elsewhere. You could try Kings Park swimming pool, Suncoast beach or casino, Pirates, or Mini Town and just wait for the mass to come past. Easy enough right?     I was wondering if there were any clubs or of groups at intermediate or lower level going on rides in the cane fields at Mount Edgecome on a Sunday morning? I was keen to join a club/group. I know there are guided rides on a Saturday morning but I can't make it then. I am happy to get my EMBA license to join a group on an weekly or adhoc basis.
