  1. Hi, Having trouble with a broken Tacx Flux. Bought secondhand on bikehub, and it broke 5 rides in. No use crying over spilt milk. Would like to get it fixed now. The problem is: - red/green light flickers (no power?? belt issue???) - orange light flickers, do an update, returns to red/green issue - connects to phone and shows, but no power, no calibration (no data transfer??) - also no connectivity to macbook for zwifting purposes. I already emailed garmin, who seems to be Tacx agents in SA, but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas or advice on the way forward, other than to just buy a Kickr
  2. Hi all, Firstly, sorry for all the questions below (it is excessive - I know ) So after doing some research on the net, I'm more confused than ever and hoping that someone here can give me a simple guide to get my gear connected to work with my smart trainer. Once my Tacx Flux arrives from CT, I want to connect it up to work with Zwift, my Garmin Edge 520 bundle & iPhone or Laptop (with Bluetooth) if possible. I would assume that the Garmin Cadence and Speed Sensors are not necessary as the trainer will give this info? From what I've read, the Garmin won't work as a bridge to bring everything together so to get the Garmin HR monitor to work, I'd need to get an ANT+ USB dongle and use my Laptop to run Zwift - is this correct? Is it also correct to assume that you can either use the Garmin with the trainer or Zwift but not both? I also have a Wahoo Tickr HR monitor, would this work with my iPhone, Zwift and the trainer? (this to me seems like the easiest setup via Bluetooth) If anyone has any other suggestions or tips, I'd really appreciate it - I'm a complete newbie
  3. HI Hubbers, As some of you might've noticed I put out a Wanted ad for a specific indoor trainer. I was contacted by a person who calls themselves Hans Hatting via SMS telling me he has one for sale. Long story short, I made use of a very kind Hubber to check out the goods for me but we were stood up. What made this very peculiar is that he didn't demand money up front like your typical scammer, he just kept quiet and I haven't heard from him since.
  4. Just a quick question regarding the difference between the men's and women's Fox Flux helmets.... is there a difference between the two? Only thing that I can see are the colours?? I picked up a Women's Flux yesterday at the Fox Shop in Springfield Park that was marked at less 50%. It was a L/XL (My size) So I tried it on and it fitted perfectly (Better than my current Sweep) Mainly white with some blue on it with a black peak. I couldn't see any reason that it should be women's specific.... At that price I bought it.
  5. When I go into most bike shops it's seldom I will see a helmet that is not suited to the road or XC purposes. There's countless options of them out there. It's not often you see something with some rear and side support – more focused on the trail and all mountain side of things. I set out to see what I could find that is readily available in South Africa. This is Part 2 of our helmet shootout, focussing on trail lids. Click here to view the article
