  1. Looking for someone to train with as often as possible. I usually do about 20kms. Please contact me 079 992 2882
  2. Looking for a group ride to ride MTB in the Dainfern fourways Kylami Area. 2-3 rides during the week and some biggies over the weekend. Cheers Wes
  3. Picked up a nice pair of gloves on the cradle loop this morning (Sunday, 21st). Give me a shout with the description if they are yours so I can get them back to you
  4. Hi guys, I haven't been in centurion long. I come from Blormfontein where you could cycle +- 30km and end up at a nice view. I find that it's different in Centurion. I have to make an event of it and either go to Big Red Barn or Wolwespruit etc. It feels like I am confined to the city streets during the week. And as a mountain biker, that sucks. Are there any nice (and safe) mtb routes one can give a go before or after work without having to load my bike in my car? Thanks
  5. Unfortunately misplaced my Smirk mask while on the Spruit :,( Potentially somewhere by the top of the single track in Delta Park to the bottom of the jump run.
  6. Hi Hubbers, I thought I'd post our new TOKEN Cycling Club weekend ride schedule here in case anyone's looking for a group to join. We're also looking for a few ride marshals to assist with these rides. There is free club membership and kit on offer, because we know there's "nothing for nothing" :-) (You do not need to be a member to join our group rides) For more info on the club you can visit our website https://tokencycling.co.za/token-cycling-and-multisport-club/ TOKEN Cycling Club Rides leaving from Cedar Square in Fourways / Craigavon Saturday (Leaving at 07h00 until 31 August 2019) Rides will follow a roughly circular route through the Cradle of Humankind where traffic is minimal and there are generous shoulders and cycle lanes for most of the routes. There are several route options for you to choose from dependent on your mood and cycling ability. There will be a re-group point at the traffic circle at the top of the “Valverde Climb” roughly 20km into the ride, and then another at Bidon Bistro near Kloofzicht at 53km / 70km depending which route you’re following. The support vehicle, when applicable, will follow route option 1, and will at all times ride behind the last club member on the day. The route distances will vary between 78km and 107km, and 1 000 – 1 600m of climbing, and you are free to decide for your self on the day which route / group you’d like to ride with. Sunday (Leaving at 07h30 until 31 August 2019) We have only 1 official club route on a Sunday, but again due to the nature of riding in the Cradle of Humankind you will be able to shorten your ride should you prefer to do so while still being looked after by your fellow club members and the support vehicle when applicable, The Sunday route is 82km with just over 1 000m of climbing.
  7. Hi everyone, I am looking for a road cycling group in the Montana area. Currently cycling on my own but want to join a club or group to cycle more often. Any suggestions or contacts that I can use? Your assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you
  8. Looking for ladies that can join me for late afternoon rides during the week (16:30) in the Moot area Pretoria. It's been a while since I did long distances on my bike and I want to get in shape for some serious cycling on weekends. As being a woman myself (obviously) I don't find it comfortable cycling alone or with strange men as I am happily married. I don't want to join a club in my area as they don't do a lot of week rides, when they ride it's a 50km ride (I am not ready for it mentally or physically) and I have my own schedule on weekends that include Buffelsdrift, Hazeldean Valley, Wolwespruit and Rosemary Hill, which you are welcome to join (its the easy tracks though- for now). In the times we live in, I would like to first have a meet and greet in a public place, we can discuss routes, daily meeting point and meeting someone beforehand takes the awkwardness away from first rides. You can whats app me if interested, would be amazing if this can evolve into a ladies group and friendship. 0712382442 Cycling Regards, Annika
  9. Lost one red photocromic Rudy project lens during morning ride at Cradle. If found.
  10. To find motivation to ride through the cold and dark winter months, we are planning a night series at Thaba Trails. The plan is to ride an hour plus a lap, laps of about 3.5km, not overly technical, as it is night riding. Collect a bottle cap per lap that you complete. End of the night, he/she with the most caps wins. No prizes, just bragging rights, maybe a prize at the end of the series in August. R60 entry fee buys you trail access, a boerrie roll and a coffee or beer at the finish. Dates are the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month: 5 June 19 June 3 July 17 July 7 August 21 August Riding starts at 18:30. Bring your lights, something warm and your helmet and lets have some night time fun!

  14. Heart Rate watch found on morning ride at the Cradle.
  15. Hi all. I forgot to put this up after the race. I lost my tool can at some stage of the race, only realised at the end when I got off my bike though so not sure where, but assuming on one of the grassy descents. It was a PRO tool can (one of these below). It was 3 days old only, and contained an inner tube and a very nice Merida multitool. If anyone picked it up somewhere please let me know. Thanks!
  16. Hi all, I'm sure it's been asked before but: Does anyone know where I can borrow or hire a tandem for 97,4? Really don't want to buy one for one race but me and my partner would love to have the experience of doing the race on a tandem! Any advice or a hubber willing to rent out their beloved 4 pedal, would be greatly appreciated
  17. I lost my Cateye Stealth Evo + cycling computer while going down Friedland Drive (from Sylvia's pass). There is a bump in the road near the Caltex service station. Unfortunately when I hit it the out-front bracket snapped and the comp went for a bit of a flyer. I looked back and saw it bouncing across the road, turned around when safe and went to try and retrieve it. Unfortunately I was not able to find it. If anyone does pick it up I will really appreciate it if you could let me know. I know that the chances are quite slim, being such a busy road with pedestrians, etc. etc. so posting this on the off-chance that someone happens upon it.
  18. World Class Service from Dunkeld Cycles HI Doddlers, This weekend I was reminded why it is so important to have a friendship with a LBS.... even better when you find an owner/operated one. I was out for a peddle on Sat morning when I noticed I had a nasty rude sidewall slash on my front tyre. (both sides) Bleak that I had to end my ride early I went straight to Dunkeld Cycles for some advice on new tyres. I walked into a busy shop to find Marc (owner) assisting customers. When it was my turn, he gave me his undivided attention and expert advice. He took me through all the various tyres they had available and what would and wouldn't work for my size and style of ridding. He then asked me when I want to ride next... Imagine my surprise when he said he could have my bike ready to ride within 30 minutes. (On a Saturday, with a busy shop) He even took the time to introduce me to the mechanic. Simply superb! Well done Marc & TEAM.
  19. Need to know which trail is safe to ride alone. There are too many trails, not too sure whereabout good to go and ride. Your feedback will be great.

  25. Hi there, A mate and myself are heading to Afriski for the weekend from 24 - 26 February 2017. One small problem is that we need help getting our two downhill bikes there from Fourways in Johannesburg, as we don't have any transportation for them. If anyone can help, we are willing to pay for transport and would be very grateful for the assistance to enjoy an epic weekend of riding!
