  1. I hope someone can help me, on the odd occasion, my strava(running on my Android) gets certain spikes in the route, is there some setting that I change to prevent this,
  2. I am currently looking at buying a new HRM. What works for you guys in multisport environments? I am new to the sport but I have a history of running, have been working with the Polar RS300x for about 7 years now, great value in my opinion. I do see the benefit of getting more info on your training session as I have linked the H7 strap to my cellphone(mounted on my upper arm) to get GPS tracking linked to HR. However dragging a cellphone along every session is tedious and a schlep to see any data during a workout. Thus the upgrade. Looking to do a half IM at most and possibly comrades in the future to check off a box.
  3. it has been found by a legend and stoked for his honesty ! - thanks again
  4. I'm market to get myself a cycling GPS computer, as far as I know there are a lot of different models on the market, but the question is which one? I'm familiar with Garmin devices as I have an Fenix 3 but for cycling it is a bit difficult to use as there is not much data fields as required. Basically I'm looking for a device for; 1. Heart Rate Monitor 2. Import a previous activity to race and improve your time 3. Speed / Cadence 4. GPS 5. Battery life......yes good battery life! Please share your honest opinions and thoughts! Thanks guys!
  5. We have a 9 year old son that enjoys MTB and all the mountain tracks around Worcester. I can't ride with him every time and would like to know what device is available to track him while he rides. I cellphone will not work every time due to the mountains and bad coverage and we are scared to buy a GPS watch that can be stolen easily if he is confronted by someone. I was thinking of a device that can be clipped on his rider gear, maybe with a SOS button in case of emergency. Any people out there maybe with a solution or suggestion we can investigate?
  6. Hi Guys Anyone know where I can find a mount for my Bryton Rider 40? Something similar to the attached pic. Similarly, maybe you know of a different brand mount that would be compatible with the Bryton unit, like a Garmin mount, etc. http://www.bikebug.com/images/Garmin%20Mount.jpg

  10. Hey guys Looking at buying my significant other the new Polar M400 GPS watch, we like the look of the watch and I like the price. I would like to find out if any body owns a Polar GPS watch, how is it? Would you recommend it? I have watched a review and one of the cons of the watch was that you could not export your workouts, so you can't load your rides on any other apps like strava or endomondo. Is this true? Thanks
  11. Hi Guys I couldn't find a thread for this, so i thought i'd try. I've been looking at the Polar v650 lately and think it has potential to be better than the Garmin 510. I'd like to find out from people out there that have owned the garmin and moved to polar or that have the Polar what their opinion is on it. Is it worth it? Should i move back to Polar? Cheers,
  12. Garmin’s relatively new Edge 1000 model has flown somewhat under the radar thanks to much of the current attention on the brand focused on their new Vector power pedals. As far as top level navigation and information devices go, users are currently spoilt for choice. Coming in at a recommended retail price of R10 599, the Edge 1000 is pricey. The question is, is it worth it? Click here to view the article
  13. Rookie here...I see there's some nice apps out for iOS & andriod. Would these be better then buying a dedicated garmin 810 or 920xt? Since most people will still have a phone with them when riding, I thought one less gadget would help lessen the bank balance too
  14. What would be the best GPS device to use for uploading Navigation files supplied by event organisers when doing unmarked MTB Events.
  15. I baught a Bryton rider 21 in March this year. It seems that every time I ride on rocky terrain the thing just freezes at some point in the ride and I end up losing my ride or have to restart the thing at some point and lose half or most of a ride. My theories are narrowed down to rocks hitting the cadence with integrated speed sensor. Should I take these off and only try to get info from the GPS computer itself when going off road or should I go see the local distributors and ask for a replacement. In case I only rely on the computer I can just as well try to hook up a small sized android phone and also save weight on crying a phone. I so want to spend money on other things at this moment and a GPS it not one of them.
  16. I'm looking into purchasing a GPS tracking watch to track all three Tri disciplines. I went to Sportsmans Warehouse this past weekend (purely because of the range they stock) but there doesn't appear to be a unit that stands out above the rest. A number of the units have a battery life of 8h, not sure what the point of this is when my target time for the Full Ironman is 12h. Any suggestions from those in the know?
  17. I am looking for some input on which is the better triathlon gps watch between the Garmin 910XT and the Garmin Fenix 2. Does anyone know when the Garmin 910XT's update/upgrade may be due?
  18. Do we have a repository of folks gps routes? I'm thinking: Harkerville Clearwater Estates Van Gaalens Heia Safari Groenies Edit: Jonkershoek Drakensberg Tokai Rietvlei Thaba Trails Fountains Various Cape Town trails. Your favourite holiday destination routes Be great if when you get to a new place that you could download some tracks... If this is a duplicate, please point me to the original.

  21. I was wondering what is a good entry level GPS one could use for mountain biking? I apologise if this is a stupid question but how does one get the data of the trails into the GPS for places like Howick that have GPS data? Is there an app that one can buy/download that can do the same job as a standalone GPS for an iPhone?
