  1. I got a RavX shock X pump for Christmas, I tried using it on my Fox 32 Float 29 shock but it does not seem to be pumping it up. If I attach the nozzle onto the Shock valve the air just builds up in the pump and doesnt go through to the shock. I used a RockShox pump on the shock and it worked. So my thinking is that the RavX pump doesnt work on the fox shock. Are the two not compatible with one another? Or is the fitting(The red piece) on the nozzle not long enough to push down the valve of the shock?
  2. I need to replace a set of RockShox that had a high speed accident but I don't want to spend too much as it is soon time to upgrade my MTB. I drove around to a few bike shops but most say 26" is rare to find nowadays and the classifieds also brought up nothing much. Those shops that did carry shox for 26" were upwards of R2,500 Because I have the large frame my steerer tube is 220 mm and only Bridge cycles had an old looking SR Suntour shock for R850 that looked suitable. Should I just get the Suntour or any other places to look in Cape Town Area?
  3. My next upgrade will be a dropper post. I'm looking at the Rockshox reverb. Not knowing a thing about dropper posts, are they as fantastic as people make them out to be, and are they worth the upgrade. What would you suggest in up to 3.5k price range Can anyone tell me the difference between the normal reverb and the stealth model. Any feedback would be appreciated
  4. Hi all mechs...I have searched all over, got the manuals and services docs and have still found nothing that will help me find out what pressure I should have in my new Vivid Air. Sag is set correct at 30% and using recommended 6,3,3 settings but I still feel its "soft" and using full stroke all the time, last thing I want is to bottom out all the time. Even dialled in a few clicks doesn't seem to do the trick. I just want to know what the pressure should be for my weight (90kg). Any tech assistance out there?
  5. Noticed on Momsen's Twitter feed that some of their team bikes are sporting Fox's ICD battery packs. No official word, of course, but it's definitely nearing production and mainstream availability. Battery pack on the Downtube and the unit on the shock is clearly visible. Less so the wiring that connects to the fork. Nice to see a local brand at the forefront of tech For those who don't know what it is, here's a cool article. http://www.pinkbike....in-Earnest.html Lappiere has been running production "El" bikes with RockShox electronic suspension. http://www.bikeradar...27-ei-14-47778/ http://brimages.bikeboardmedia.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/ost4.jpg

  14. I've jiggered the motion control/compression damper/lockout thing a little bit on my 2009 Rockshox Revelation 426 140mm fork, no problem as I have virtually never used it, problem is its now leaking fork oil out of the top because the seal on the pushlock lever's pivot shaft is vrot and I can't open the cartridge to replace it. Just a word of wisdom from the newly wise - the thread to undo the plastic cartridge from the aluminium cap is lefthand thread - NOT the normal righthand thread..... So what I want to know is can I take out the Motion control/compression damper cartridge and replace it with a blank cap, the cap that would be on the fork if it had no motion control? Would the rebound damper and the fork in general still work fine with no compression damper cartridge installed and just a blank cap? Just an added note - the fork is working 100% as it is, just leaking oil out the pushloc shaft as mentioned. This is the fork
  15. Hey all does anyone know where I can find a replacement for a Revelation motion control knob? 21. Hi all, I am looking to purchase a new fork. Budget is R5k-R6k on BuyCycle. Currently i am looking at a Reba or SID 29er (if I can get a good deal on one). To date I haven't really lookied at the Fox range, don't know why but they do not really catch my attention as much as RockShox do. From what I have heard I must go full out for the RockShox and avoid Fox. If anyone could recommend which one I should look at it would be much appreciated. Please also enlighten me with the main differences between the two. Regards

  23. Does anyone have any experience with X Fusion products? I'm looking for a fork for a 650b AM build and the X Fusion Sweep has caught my attention. It's the 650b variation of the Slant (26er) and Trace (29er) forks, both of which seem to get excellent reviews and great owner satisfaction. The biggest complaint about them is availability. The Sweep fared pretty well against the Pike, which seems the be the fork on everyone's most wanted list, in a head to head shootout: http://bikemagic.com...sion-sweep.html The biggest difference is the price really, and with the Pike retailing probably around R11-12k, if there's an option that's nearly as good but not much more than half the price it's worth a second look. It lacks compression adjustment, and only has rebound and lockout, but if you're pretty normally sized maybe the factory tune is good enough. They also do the Hilo seatpost. Any thoughts?
  24. hi guys. I need a bit of help iv got a rockshox reba sl fork and for some reason the spool for the pop lock is very sticky and wont pop back. I have removed the cable and its not that. removed the spool and cleaned all the dirt out yet still same problems.
