  1. The Specialized Tarmac is a bike synonymous with road racing performance. In over a decade on the WorldTour, the Tarmac has scooped up an almighty array of race wins: from the grandest of the Grand Tours to the World Championships. And while the WorldTour riders did the winning, the engineers at Specialized have continually refined the platform, with the input from riders, in the pursuit of the ultimate lightweight, stiff, and responsive road racer. 2. I am looking for the best place in Gauteng to by Specialized gear and accessories. It seems to be super pricey, isn't there an outlet store somewhere or is that wishful thinking...
  3. Next up in our long term test fleet is the Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Expert Carbon 6Fattie. Another absolute stunner, this bike had us taking turns trying to pop a wheelie in the car park. We'll be treating the bike as one of our own for the year: documenting the journey, and ultimately providing an in-depth review like never before. Click here to view the article
  4. According to our classifieds search data, the Specialized Epic is the most sought after bike on Bike Hub. Perhaps due to this wide appeal, it has also become a symbol of endurance racing in South Africa, and all the connotations that come attached to the stereotype. Opinions aside, this was my first significant experience with this iconic race bike and I was intrigued to see what all the fuss is about. Click here to view the article
  5. On Friday, at the Tour Down Under, Bora-Hansgrohe and Quick-Step Floors debuted the entirely-new Roval CLX 50, where it should prove to be the riders’ wheels of choice for most stages. At 50mm in depth and ranging in weight from 1,230-1,425 grams per-pair, depending on configuration, CLX 50 is the ultimate all-around road wheelset – striking the perfect balance between lightweight, aerodynamics, and impeccable handling, unlike any wheelset before it. 6. Anyone have any info on these gold Rovals? Supposedly they're for Sagan's Venge disk bike but I haven't actually seen them on a bike. Hoping he pulls them out some time during the Tour Down Under. Either way, they look sexy as heck! http://cdn.media.cyclingnews.com/2017/01/12/1/1_670.jpg
  7. a group of mates decided to have fun and cycle a 55km route from Richards bay to Umfolozi Bird Park on Friday night 6 Jan 2017. This is a motivation for you to dust off your mtb, stop waiting for stage races and get on, and go!!! hope you like it.
  8. R1500 per shock, so it was R3000 for the two. How complicated is it to service and how long does it take. Not even my land rover costs that much to run. And that's saying something SPECIALIZED. They have a monopoly on servicing these and that makes me feel uncomfortable and the competition commission too.....
  9. With the year drawing rapidly to a close, we take a look at our ten most popular gear review articles published in 2016. Click here to view the article
  10. Richard Murray put in a huge effort during the triathlon at the Rio Olympics, narrowly missing out of a podium spot after making up places with a fantastic run. However, being Bike Hub, we'll just skip the swim and run, and focus on Richard's Specialized S-Works Tarmac. Click here to view the article
  11. In terms of women’s cycling gear in South Africa, a decent pair of baggies can be hard to find. Specialized are one of a few brands offering baggies for women. I tried both the Women’s Andorra Comp and Women’s Andorra Pro shorts for comparison. Click here to view the article
  12. In this episode of Trail Hunter, we see the world from the rider's perspective, as Matt Hunter captures his point of view from aboard the new Enduro. Click here to view the article
  13. The MotoDiva are women’s specific all-round mountain bike shoes from Specialized. 15. Forgive my ignorance, i must have been hiding under the wrong rock, but what discipline of mountainbiking is a dropper seat post intended for ? For some reason the 1st time I ever heard of a dropper was on Sani when the SuperSport guys reviewed a few of the Specialized bikes.
  16. We are voluntarily recalling all MY16 Venge ViAS S-Works and Pro level frames in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”). Click here to view the article

  19. Taking inspiration from the infamous Paris-Roubaix in both name and purpose, the Specialized Roubaix is a bike built for endurance, performance and superb ride quality. In 2007 Specialized changed the game with what was then an all-new Roubaix featuring vibration dampening “Zertz” inserts. Over the next three years the bike would claim back-to-back Paris Roubaix titles piloted by some of the greatest names in our sport. To date the Specialized Roubaix has tallied five wins in the famed spectacle that is the “Hell of the North” (2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2014). And, ten years on, it appears that the big ‘S’ have taken things up a notch… Click here to view the article
  20. Keen to get some first-hand opinions/experiences from those who have owned or ridden the previous generation and latest generation Camber please...? Busy toying with the idea of selling the Epic and seeing how the world looks from a Camber. How much different is the rider experience and handling on the 2016 Camber over the one it replaced (2014 I think)? http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/Bikes,3/Specialized/Camber-Comp-Carbon-29,13367 vs https://www.specialized.com/za/en/bikes/mountain/trail/camber/camber-comp-carbon-29/106275 I see the frame shape changed slightly, susp travel increased from 110mm to 120mm, and the chainstay length shortened. All good reading it all on paper, but how different are they in reality?

  22. What are your thoughts on the 2017 Camber Comp? I'm trying to decide between the Camber and the Stumpjumper FSR Comp (R9000 more). Any other bike (Trail 29er) recommendations in this price range? Camber Comp: R40k Stumpy: R49k

  25. Specialized introduced the Enduro over a decade ago, and since then, it’s gone from a disruptive, slightly misguided outsider to an industry-leading benchmark for the modern trail bike. And in a relatively short amount of time, it established a new standard of rider expectations for what a trail bike should be. Fast-forward 10 years, and you’re looking at a bike with a trophy case that would make anyone jealous. Today, the all-new Enduro does it all, from steep, root-laden climbs to white-knuckle descents, taking it all in stride. Click here to view the article
