I just want reliability and serviceability to be hassle free. I’ve looked at brakes such as Tektro and Shimano mt200, but I don’t know where to buy them. Thank you

  6. Hi All, I am trying to source a new groupset (SRAM or Shimano (disc)) for a road bike. Due to supply issues, there is absolutely no stock in SA. Has anyone recently purchased a groupset and if so, where did you find stock (and how did you bring it to SA).
  7. I have decided I want to also run a 200mm rotor on the rear of my Enduro bike, I'm currently using Sram Code RSC brakes. When looking at the price of rotors, Shimano and TRP are similar in price however Sram is about 50% more than the aforementioned brands, are the Sram rotors worth the extra cash? Do they perform better/last longer? Alternatively is there another brand I should look at?

  16. Ahoy hubland. I've got an issue with my bike's (2017 Trek Stache, stock brakes) SRAM Level TL brake lever. The pin which fixes the lever to the body (circled in red below) is loose, and walks out during rides. I can press it back in with my thumb usually, and luckily the lever's return spring tension causes it to rotate slightly and jam into the hole, stopping it from falling out completely. This is obviously no bueno, but I'm not finding a lot of advice or information on this on the intermatronz. Its only the one lever doing it, and judging by the other lever this should have some form of retaining mechanism inside as that pin rotates too but doesn't walk out. Is this a replaceable component? Common issue? Recommended fixes? Thanks in advance!

  18. Hi all, I am at a crossroads here. I broke my one Shimano XT 2x shifter, so the one thought train is to instead of replace with another 2x10 shifter set, to make the jump and upgrade to 12sp. The catch comes in that I have a power tap rear disc hub (G2), a non-boost (QR) frame and I am trying to find a way to minimize the changes required.. The current options are as follows: Sunrace 11-50T cassette (MZ90), which is suited specifically to SRAM drivetrains., and then go SRAM GX? Sunrace 11-51T cassette (MZ903), suited to Shimano drivetrains. I cannot find stock of this in SA. The thought would then be a Shimano SLX drivetrain? I believe the difference is in the spacing they implement on the two cassettes. The 11T at the bottom negates having to change the hub, and will fit a standard Shimano HG freehub or equivalent (Non micro spline hubs). Crank is not an issue, as that can be easily converted. Does anyone have any other suggestions that work or are known to work in this scenario? All suggestions are welcome. For those that have tested SLX and GX, what would be the verdict, considering pricing and spares? Regards.
  19. Taken off a Trainerroad thread Looks interesting, especially for those who seem keen on 1x for the road Here is what you would need. Sram Shifters from Dirk. (90 Euros for the modified guts so maybe a little more for the guts and brake levers) Sram 1x Rear derailleur (Long Cage: CX1, Rival1, Apex1) (anywhere from $50-$150) Sram XDR Driver (Sram’s freehub for their newer AXS stuff) (around $70) Sram Force AXS 12 speed 10-33 or 10-36 cassette (around $175) Fouriers Extender or other extender. (around $40) Sram AXS chain or other Sram/KMC 12 speed chain (yes you can use a non AXS chain on AXS cassettes) $30
  20. Good morning Over the weekend, the shifter lever on my SRAM Force 10 speed snapped off. Please see image. Can this be repaired? Or would it be easier and cheaper to buy new shifters? Any ideas as to where I could get a replacement would be greatly appreciated. Or should I be looking at an upgrade to a new 11 speed groupset? Thanks in advance.
  21. Hi All, When i bought a new bike a while ago that came with Eagle, I did not get a chain gap adjustment tool with it, as one would get if you buy a new SRAM Eagle derailleur. I was told by the shop that since it's OEM on my bike, they also did not get one so they can't supply me with one. Does anyone know where I can buy one? I've asked around locally but have not found anyone with a spare they are willing to sell...and if I import one the shipping costs will actually be higher than the tool itself so I also don't want to go down that route...?
  22. I would like to service my Rockshox recon. I collected all the spares and the oils, but, I've just realised that I don't have any Sram butter that all youtube videos use. Is there an alternative grease I can use? Thanks in anticipation
