  1. The Lesotho Sky Race goes into it’s 5th edition this year and will be taking place from 20th – 25th September 2015. The event has been a UCI stage race since 2013, a strategy which has resulted in international and South African professional MTB teams competing in the race in 2013 and 2014. Moreover Basotho riders have the chance of earning valuable UCI points and as a result, Lesotho managed to leapfrog Namibia and is now ranked 2nd in Africa (in Mountain Biking) behind South Africa.   2. The UCI (International Cycling Union), with the support and collaboration of Dr. Wagih Azzam, President of CAC and UCI Vice President, Mr. Yao Allah Kouamé, CAC Secretary General and Mr. William Newman, President of Cycling South Africa, will be hosting a rider training camp, coaching seminar, mechanics course and anti-doping information sessions in January and February prior to and during the 2015 African Continental Road and Track Championships to be held in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa, between 9 and 14 February.   3. The below link is an interesting analysis of UCI Ruling 1.3.019, regarding the 6.8kg weight limit. In an age when most all high end carbon bikes are lighter than 6.8kg, this rule is a joke to say the very least.
