  1. Good afternoon to all Hubbers on this hot Christmas Eve! Ever since I've started using 2 devices to track my cycling workouts (outdoor), I've noticed that instead of adding 100km for example to my bike odometer after a 100km ride, it adds 200. This makes it difficult to keep track of consumables such as tyres, chains etc. A fellow club member of mine uses two separate GC accounts, that could be a way to avoid the distance duplication. I've noticed however that Strava detects if you've used more than 1 device so it ignores the data from the second device. Any suggestions to avoid the distance duplication?
  2. Afternoon folks, After my tempo-ish group ride this morning, I noticed that the Recovery Advisor on my 520 was half of that of my 935. Who can this be? They use exactly the same algorithm, written by FirstBeat, yet the hours differ significantly. I use my chest strap to record HR and not the optical sensor. Who else has come across this?
  3. Morning Hubbers, Looking at getting the Forerunner 935. Currently using an Edge 520 and an ancient Forerunner 15. I absolutely love my 520, and the 15 is basic enough for the relatively little running I do. What's making me decide about getting it (935) or not is how it is as a BIKE COMPUTER. To those who know the 520, you know that the screens are amazingly customizable, with lots of data at your fingertips, and I've grown accustomed to it. Feedback will be appreciated!
  4. Hi so... It seems my indoor trainer is zwift compatible and all i need to do is get a ant+ receiver for my laptop as i have garmin bike sensors. So, if someone can give me some insight on the following that would be great. 1. if i sync the CAD, SPD, HR sensors to zwift and do my ride will that ride be linked to my strava, top peak and Vitality points? 2. Can i use garmin 235 ( that i usually record rides on, that syncs to garmin connect and then go to all the apps. ) and connect the sensors to zwift + garmin at the same time>? Im going to do this anyway but would be nice not to have to do a few rides just to figure it out. Links to vids or forums is also appreciated.
  5. Today I tested the navigation/ routes function of my Garmin 510 with a Spruit route in preparation for Berg and Bush as I had never used the function before. When I got to the end, the Garmin peeped, displayed end of "training ride" & then switched off by itself straight away. I now have no data from my ride as the ride wasn't saved which you usually do manually. I don't want this to happen after 99km of Berg and Bush Day 1 & I'm a bit bleak that I've lost a ride in terms of stats, goals, Strava, Vitality etc etc. I don't want it to happen again, please help. Thanks!

  8. Good morning Hubland! Happy humpday! Every now and again I browse through the ConnectIQ page to see what new and interesting widgets/apps/data screens pop up. A while ago I came across the app What's My FTP by BaronBiosystems. This was actually reviewed by both DCR and GCN with surprising accuracy. They have other data fields too like Bioshift (which I'm currently experimenting with) and I dabbled with Time To Exhaustion (look up Xert). Who else has given these data fields/apps/widgets a go?
  9. A good morning to all Hubbers, My Garmin premium heart rate strap has started developing an odd smell. I regularly run it under the tap after rides, and chuck it in the washing machine after 7-10 rides as prescribed. Never has it developed this smell. Now however, in the last month or so, a sweaty, almost Deep Heat like smell has now clung onto it and will just not go away. I've now washed it several times by hand, with different kinds of soaps, but to avail. Who else has had this problem?
  10. HI Hubbers, To those of you attend the Meyersdal VA, I lost my Edge 520 in there on Wednesday afternoon between 3-4pm. When the device turns on my name and number does show. If you have found it, please return!

  12. Hi Hubbers! I have been using my Edge 520 device since Nov/Dec 2015 and I have had very little complaints. I attempted to use the Courses function this past weekend .Very simple (in theory), you plot the route on GC and download to the device. Then you 'start' the course and ride towards the start, it picks up that you're on the course and it takes you from there. Could someone who has used the Courses function often please help me: When your Map is displaying (when the line is purple), it only gives me 2 options to display along with the route, speed, elevation or whatever. But under the Courses function you can choose stuff like Heading, Speed, HR, Time/Dist to Next. What is next? Is that the next turn? Also, is there a way so that ONLY the map shows? Do you have to turn all your other screens off under the Activity Profile? I think the Courses function is very cool, but on the Edge 500 (which I had before) it was very crass, and on the 520 it's not user friendly. I suspect units like the 1000 and 820 Explore have a much better Courses function/interface. Thanks for reading and commenting!

  15. Hi Hubbers! To those of you who have been blessed with ownership of the wonderful Edge 520, have you noticed that a little screen pops up after your workout, stating the suggested recovery time before the next ride/training session? This morning I had quite an intense WO on the IDT, and it told me to recover for 72 hours , which isn't going to happen . So, who relies on this suggestion that the little machine spits out? Is the rest period based solely on your avg HR throughout the workout/ride, or what other things play a part?
