  1. Hi all, I’m moving to Rondebosch in the coming months and was planning on cycling into town for work as I’ll be based in the CBD/foreshore area. The way I see it, I'll likely use the road/cycling path along Liesbeek Parkway then onto the cycle lane and into town most days, but would love to hop over the mountain some days via Rhodes Mem, then Vredehoek and into town. Are there any groups who commute along this route? Ideally would prefer to ride with some others because, you know, safety. Thanks in advance
  2. I am back in cape Town after being away for a good few years. Who runs the best workshops? Your bike comes back in great shape, no snafus, good pricing...
  3. Hi my name is Rob. I am a cyclist based in Fish Hoek, Cape Town. I am looking for riding/training partners for either road or mountain or both in and around the Southern peninsula/Southern suburbs. The only catch is due to a busy workday I ride early mornings leaving 5 back by 7 or so. I am more than happy to leave earlier if need be and meet up with you somewhere more convenient. I guess I average about 25-26km/h on road bike with climbs included. Can easily handle a bit more and am super relaxed about riding with slower people but faster or equal is ideal. Weekends we can ride at a more sensible hour! I enjoy riding road, love riding mountain, climbing is awesome, I am a bit slow on single track as I am rather new to the sport. Hoping to do rides of about 50-60km during week or hill sprints and repeats. Weekend longer rides are awesome! If anyone knows of groups or people who ride those kinds of times I would love to hear of them. Thanks for taking the time to read my post! Cheers Rob
  4. Hi there Recently moved house from Southern Suburbs Cape Town to Noordhoek. I am keen to join up with some like minded people for road cycling / training rides on weekends. Due to kid commitments probably mostly Sunday early morning rides on the road (but may be some Saturdays). Would also be keen for some MTBing from time to time. Are there any groups in Noordhoek / Fish Hoek / South Peninsula or even Tokai that someone could recommend and provide content details? Key is I am after a group that starts out this side... I train to keep fit, but often also enter road races and triathlons (so also interested if there are any triathlon run and swim groups starting from the South Peninsula on weekends). NOt a beginner but need to build up fitness a little as have been off cycling for a few months with house move / work etc. Thanks very much all Deon
  5. Hi Everyone I am a new cyclist to Cape Town and the Southern Suburbs. I moved down here from JHB and am wanting to pick up some riding/racing again. I have had a bit of a lay off from riding, last event was the 2015 Double Century which I completed on a tandem in one of the tandem teams. I would like to find out if there is anyone looking for a riding buddy? Please contact me if you have any options to offer.
  6. Hi I'm new into road cycling and just got myself a road bike. Looking for a group to join from Southern Suburbs specifically Rondebosch East area wanting to be ready for the CTCT. Thanks guys
  7. Hey guys, I am fairly new to the MTB industry, as I have only been riding since last year December. I am keen to start riding more often (every weekend), and looking for some guys in the same boat. I want to obviously ride trails, but at the same time I'm not really keen on trails with no single tracks. I like to think I climb the hills for the single tracks down, if that makes any sense...? I also don't ride to race, or make good time. Its simply for the fun of it! Please let me know if there is anyone out there either doing the above or looking at doing the above... Maybe its a good idea to post where you are from, and where you often ride, so I'll start: Situated: Kommetjie Ride: Anything from Bloemendal to Paul Cluver etc. - No Tokai anymore
  8. Hi everyone, so I am looking for one or two mountain biking buddies. I used to ride in Tokai perfectly on my own as I knew it like the back of my hand but with Tokai closed, after 2 years of staying away from the Block House I decided last weekend to go on a ride there but turned around half-way due to safety reasons. I am an average rider with intermediate skills trying to up my miles for longer races. So if there's anyone in the Southern Suburbs, mostly in the Claremont / Newlands / Rondebosch and surrounding areas who is keen on going for rides and around the same skills level, get in touch and let's see how it goes. Thanks.
  9. Hi, I am attempting my first Argus in 2015 and reside in the Southern Suburbs CT. Anyone around here training for the Argus? Need cycle training 'buddies' during the week.
