  3. The combination of cold winter mornings and live coverage of the Tour de France makes training indoors the go-to for many cyclists and triathletes alike. Not only can you leave the thermals and toe caps off, but your indoor session can be just as effective (in certain cases, more effective), than training outdoors. There are a huge variety of training apps and aids out on the market, all designed to make your training easier, keep you entertained and make you want to train indoors. Although we are spoilt for choice with all the aids out on the marketing, let’s face it; training indoors isn’t nearly as exciting as getting out there. We know all the tricks in the book; from racing other cyclists online right through to watching the Tour in hope that it will inspire you to push through the next interval set. Although indoor training is mentally tough, there is one key factor that can change it for you. Music. The beat that drives your legs forward, the lyrics that transport you from the confines of four walls, the emotions that come from a few minutes of beautiful noise. Listening to music while you’re training can help your fatigue, boost your mood and helps you feel less pain. Choosing the right type of music for your training is what stands between you and the finish line. We want to know what your top three songs are for training indoors! Every week for the course of three weeks, we will award a pair of CycleOps socks to the best liked song list. At the end of the three weeks, we will award a CycleOps Winter Training Package to the overall top liked list. Turn up the music, close your eyes and let the beat take over. Submissions should be made in the following format, Artist, Song and Album (if known). The winner for each week will be announced every Monday (10th, 17th & 24th July 2017) with the grand price being announced on Tuesday the 25th July 2017

  7. Morning fellow hubbers, Looking for your advice & experiences with Strava & compatible heart rate monitors. I am currently using Strava for my rides (am testing out the premium 30 day trial) and it works well for recording my rides, have my phone mounted on both my road & mountain bikes. I also have my Suunto watch mounted on my bike as well (T series). However, I was looking into it, and in order to record gym activities (spinning classes etc) I am presuming that I would need a compatible device, i.e. HRM, so was looking into it & came across this one for R1799 http://www.shopandship.co.za/Fitness-Tech/Fitness-Devices/Heart-Rate-Monitors/3756/WAH031/Wahoo-TICKR-X-Heart-Rate-Monitor/details Not sure if this is the only one, or has anyone else got any other suggestions. I am not sure if it is worth it or not, since I am already using my Suunto, which is not compatible with Strave. Also, is the premium Strava version really worth it, over the free version...your thoughts. Thanks in advance,
  8. Beyond 2000 was a documentary TV Show that aired from 1985 to 1999 and featured technological innovations that were meant to improve our lives and be widely available to the mass market soon after the year 2000. Most inventions and ideas were outstanding and, for the time it was aired, quite out there. Flying cars, jetpacks as daily transport - next level stuff. Click here to view the article
  9. Buddy of mine in Cape Town is looking for someone to check out an item ,the wahoo kicker, in Kimberly. so i ask a friend of mine to check it out before he buys it. address is given and my buddy in Kimberly walks up and down George street in Kimberly unable to find the "handling company " where the item is apparently located. so my buddy in CT calls the seller up and says we cant find the place , suddenly the item is now sold. two days later the ad pops up again by the same person. today i find the add again on gumtree. this time in Cape town http://pretoria.olx.co.za/wahoo-kickr-for-sale-iid-826056409 http://www.gumtree.co.za/a-sports-bicycles-fitness/gardens/wahoo-kickr-for-sale/1001396953200910765073009 not saying this is definitely a scam but something is abit fishy. hope all take correct precautions.
