  1. Hi everyone my 6 month old Garmin Edge's one ear broke off? Would Garmin help out or am I left on my own to sort it out?
  2. Hoping to get some help here. I've googled around and can't find the exact thing, but I'm guessing if it's possible someone on here would have figured out how. The problem: I want to be able to view WHERE I am on an elevation profile for a certain route - quite practically, I've often done (Mtb) races and pulled out my phone to look at the elevation map, cross that to how many km's we've done, and been able to go "OK, looks like we have that x big climb left", or "we're this far now into that hard piece" etc. I'm wondering if somehow, using the EDGE 520's segments or route profiles, you can load a race's route before the ride and be able to map yourself during it on the unit itself. i.e. on one of your data screens, have some version of the 'total' race and be able to track yourself on it.
  3. Hi Hubbers - Not sure if there is a thread like this so sorry if there is already one. I'm in the market for a decent cycling / gps computer.......navigation is not necessary but will be a added bonus. Main features to track your ride; display HR / Cadence / Power ect. I would really like to have a device where I can import a previous race and then compete against that time.....I assume this will be like virtual pacer? So if my previous CTCT time was 4hrs, I want to know how far I'm off in reaching the goal. Any advice or device you can recommend? Garmin / Wahoo / Bryton ......... ?????
  4. Garmin have quietly introduced the successors to the Edge 520 and 820 GPS units, with the new devices boasting Garmin's new ClimbPro feature in smaller and lighter packages... https://road.cc/content/tech-news/259675-garmin-launch-edge-530-and-830-gps-units?fbclid=IwAR3gary3LcSok7pt-yxtC-r9GjRavJWj-LVAVoo4BSPGBjPzK9gkDLACWb4
  5. So the EGDE 130 was promised at 169 GBP, which comes to about R2843. But then Garmin SA decides to pop in into a bundle and voila, we sit at R4300, not the value proposition I was hoping for...
  6. HI Hubbers, To those of you attend the Meyersdal VA, I lost my Edge 520 in there on Wednesday afternoon between 3-4pm. When the device turns on my name and number does show. If you have found it, please return!
  7. Hi Hubbers! I have been using my Edge 520 device since Nov/Dec 2015 and I have had very little complaints. I attempted to use the Courses function this past weekend .Very simple (in theory), you plot the route on GC and download to the device. Then you 'start' the course and ride towards the start, it picks up that you're on the course and it takes you from there. Could someone who has used the Courses function often please help me: When your Map is displaying (when the line is purple), it only gives me 2 options to display along with the route, speed, elevation or whatever. But under the Courses function you can choose stuff like Heading, Speed, HR, Time/Dist to Next. What is next? Is that the next turn? Also, is there a way so that ONLY the map shows? Do you have to turn all your other screens off under the Activity Profile? I think the Courses function is very cool, but on the Edge 500 (which I had before) it was very crass, and on the 520 it's not user friendly. I suspect units like the 1000 and 820 Explore have a much better Courses function/interface. Thanks for reading and commenting!
  8. I am in the process of updating replacement values on my insurance policy. One of the items that I need to update is a Garmin Edge 305. In the event that it should get lost/damaged/stolen, what would the equivalent replacement model be? Thanks Edit: It is the bundle with the Cadence sensor and HRM belt
  9. Hi guys, I have searched but seen nothing on it. I got given a new garmin cadence sensor but it does not seem to talk to my 705 head unit. Anyone else tried this setup? Shot.
