Damned right.

Thought it was funny in the pre-race chit chat where Rob mentioned that Danny's girlfriend noted that he has never prepared so hard in the off season for DH racing as what he has now ... he even has a six pack for the first time in his life :P

Yep. You need to do that now to stay in the top. Remember Greg's saying at teh end of 2013 I think -  less bar bills, more bar bells

Cool

My mates were trapped in the Witels during the Laingsberg floods and a chopper went in there to find them.

Nothing but respect for these guys

If you ride the Kings Blockhouse route on Table Mountain regularly, you will know that red and white helicopter, because WSR often do their exercises on Devils Peak above Rhodes Memorial. The ground component often operate from Tafelberg Road. Next time, if you see a team working hard at honing their skills, stop, say hi and tell them you appreciate what they are doing. You never know if the next life they save may be yours.

This pilot has nerves (and balls) of steel. This is a very dangerous maneuver he is executing, as the downwash of the rotors in such a confined space "bounces" off the bottom, and comes funneling back up as there is no horizontal escape. This new funnel of air coming back to the rotors causes the chopper to require more power, cancelling the "ground effect", basically causing it to lose lift resulting in an accelerated descent.

To fly like that in such a confined space deserves a medal.
