Cranky but hot!

ok... so I'm looking at getting new cranks for my 4X/jump bike. I currently have some cheap-n-nasty Truvativ Hussefelt ISIS drive cranks on.

As for a replacement, I'm thinking either:

Shimano Saint (possibly with a red e*thirteen chainring. I have Saint cranks on my DH bike and love them. Plus I have a Saint RD on the jump bike so it'll match nicely)

Or... Truvativ Descendant (new on the market. Blackbox tech so should be good)

Or Race Face Atlas FR (I think these look awesome, but dunno how they compare)

Or maybe even some XC/AM cranks?! Like Raceface Turbines

What would you guys suggest as the best all rounder?! They all cost around the same... which is the strongest, lightest, best looking option?!

You Have What on your DH bike???I think you answered your own question mate.

hmmm... I thought so... but I was just thought I'd open my mind to the Saint alternatives. I see Nigel is running descendant cranks on his superlight GT Fury. Maybe he can tell us how they compare.

they did for a bit... but were bailed out... so business as usual.

Yeah? If your mind is too open your brains will fall out! - which reminds me, always wear a lid.

I guess you are tunning gears for 4X?

If it was SS - I would go BMX style cranks any day - just because they can take one hell of a beating. Been jumping Hollowbites (same pair) for around 3 years now - replaced BB and thats it.

Otherwise - look at the Octane 1 mtb 4x cranks...but Saint will always be a top dog in MTB jump/freeride/4X!

...so what you're saying is that the Saint is a 'no brainer'?

The red is HOT!

The race face atlas for sure!!By far the prettiest.

haha! seems like the ladies like the Race Face Atlas cranks...

I should have added 'babe magnet' to the list of qualities I'm looking for in a new set of cranks

Touche'

Unless you wish to 'pull chicks' my man.

In which case, listen to the Ladies.

That red is quite keen, just gonna be a bummer when it fades to pink. Unless you're comfortable with your feminine side that is. :D

haha! I thought MtbBarbie would have voted for the pink faded Race face, haha!

I see there's a company in the UK that makes protective decals for Saint cranks
