The Guy in Pink Posted July 16, 2011 Share Do you need full suspension? For the same price you will get a bit better Hardtail. But the Trek is good value. The bike I have here in DRC is a Trek 6700. Its done me well for 5 years, and I have ridden and raced it very regularly in SA . As stuff has worn out or been damaged I have replaced and upgraded a bit. MJ the Expat Posted July 16, 2011 Share You mean which one is the better value for money? On paper it looks like the Trek. But you wont be riding on paper. From what I noted, people have warned other people to stay away from Trek as their aftersales service is...well, k@k. I have always said that you should pick a bike that you would want to upgrade ie. the one with a frame worthy of upgrading.
Capricorn Posted July 16, 2011 Share wow, cyclelab offers that trek for R6000 more!! jeepers. that's a good deal eccentric. Solomons i presume?and omg on the "getting a better hardtail for the same price".

I cannot really upgrade the Gary Fisher as the frame is not suited for disks. I made be relocating closer to SA and may just have to go for some time on single status. But things are changing all the time and there may be enough space for EM in the flatlet. Will know after the interview next week. If that is the case the MTB Tandem will go with. Lots of space to ride on the mine and golf estate.

In my 3 job interviews in the last 7 years the interviewer has entered the room with the project drawings under his arm. That sort of signals that the Buyer/seller relationship is reversed. For me it has been quite profitable. Make sure that you take a bike. Although we have a 7am daily meeting I manage to get in a 75 minute ride and visit the site for 15 minutes before the meeting. As sunrise is about 6:30 my Exposure light is essential.
