Konaman Posted July 30, 2011 Share Has anybody on the hub got the new Santa Cruz Blur XC Carbon or has ridden it? The duel susp frame only weighs about 1.9kg and apparently it is super stiff and virtually unbreakable. How does it compare with Giant Anthem and the Specialized Epic etc? Will it be competitive in XC racing? Any comments? Edited July 30, 2011 by Konaman
crasher Posted July 30, 2011 Share I got one last year looks like they made a few tweaks judging by that pic. My frame with headset and rear shock weighed 2.14kg if I remember correctly. I have crashed mine harder than any of my aluminium bikes and its still fine I like it and think its a good bike Here is mine Edited July 30, 2011 by crasher
chris_w_65 Posted July 30, 2011 Share I got one last year but all that has changed is the colour/paint. My frame with headset and rear shock weighed 2.14kg if I remember correctly. Superfly Posted July 30, 2011 Share It is the best bike ever. Mine weighs in at 9,7kg complete. The best singletrack munching cross country racing beast ever.I have the tallboy also but prefer the blur.
Swift01 Posted August 1, 2011 Share The tube bends more depending on what size the frame is. Friend of mine has one and she loves it.

Will it be competitive in XC racing? Any comments? Hmmm... definately not "unbreakable". A friend of mine cracked his frame after a few months of riding. But they are very cool bikes. I opted for a Morewood Zula instead after my friends mishap with his Blur. I still don't trust carbon frames when you're a heavier rider (i.e. me = 90kg).
