ZAN78 Posted August 1, 2011 Share I'm brand new to the cycling scene! Can you guys tell me if the following price for a Bianchi road bike is on par? Bianchi VIA Nirone 7 Xenon(2011) - Aluminium frame with a carbon fibre fork, size 55. Its second hand and its going to cost me R 13 000. Minion Posted August 1, 2011 Share Way too much. You could import a brand new one from Evans Cycles R1500 less:http://www.evanscycles.com/products/bianchi/via-nirone-7-xenon-compact-2011-road-bike-ec025814
Eugene Posted August 2, 2011 Share Xenon was Campags bottom of range. They stopped making it 2 years ago, although I have seen some 2011 bikes specced with it. R13 000 is too much for what is an entry level bike. With carefull shopping, you will get a brand new, full carbon bike with Shimano 105 for that price. Despite what the Campagnisto say, Shimano 105 is much better than Xenon. I would not pay more than R6 500 for that Bianchi second hand.
