I have the same problem, no matter how tight I make the QR

Good qeustion, don't know. The clamp I had, I broke off to make more tighter and then went to the local bike shop and got normal "rider" clamp.

Use a carbon assembly grease.

The grease has a fine grit in the mixture preventing your seatpost from sliding.

I have the same problem with the seat post on my MTB.

It is a Alu, Thompson post in a steel frame, using a Hex-bolt clamp. The post and clamp are both the right size for the frame according to specs and fit appropriately.

No matter what I do, it drops about 5- 10 mm during a ride.

The seatpost on my roadbike has stayed firm after using a carbon paste manufactured for the purpose, is there anything similar I can use or is there a different solution ?

Most reputable bike shops should have some for sale or they could help you out with a bit used in their workshop.
