WOW , that looks like some seriaaas fun. wonder if my life insurance and medical aid ( if they would even be needed in a accident ) would cover me.

Only if it were an occasional thing, done for the heck of it. If you do it often, or at regular intervals, it becomes a hazardous pursuit and you will most probably be loaded (your premium will increase to off-set the increase in risk associated with the sport) or if you don't want to pay extra premiums, you will have an exclusion placed on the disability portion of your cover and will not have cover whilst you are doing the flights.

Med Aid would cover you regardless...

Insane ... I WANT ONE!

Hey Tank, my friends own a skydiving club and it seems a very real possibility coming to SA (or closer). Their son has been in the states checking it out. Seems he is still in training, you need to have base jumping sorted before any change in direction is considered.

I joked at making it part of regular skydiving, they chuckled and said it is the future of air travel... whatever that means??

on the flip side, when it goes wrong, don't worry about med aid, just make sure insurance/benefits are sorted.. Heard someone could not get under a bridge and the hesitation to go over was too long. Makes me wonder how long is too long, a tenth of a second?
