Little Fish Posted April 21, 2015 Share We rescued these two three year old brothers from a very neglected state last week, imagine our surprise when we let them out in the run and they ran smack into the fence and were falling in holes. It turns out they are totally blind at three years old. Their so called owner didn't even know they were blind The place they were kept also had a male and female Boerbull, none are sterilised and the female was on heat so you can imagine the trauma these boys went through with the Boerbull wanting to fight them all the time and they couldn't see. We took them to the eye specialist today and the problem is hereditary cataracts probably caused by inbreeding. We are trying to raise enough money to get the operation done to restore their sight and then will be looking for homes for them. They have never known a car, collar and leash or any affection but are responding well and have lots of love to give. They are a real handful at the moment being very confused, scared and blind, if we separate them by even a few metres they start crying for each other. 20150421_091315.jpgIm actually speechless - on so many levels.I feel like I cant deal with this human ignorance & utter cruelty anymore. Keep us posted please Ian - either on Fb or here. Payday is coming soon - this month there have been too many worthy causes. Heartbreaking. Da Vinci Posted April 21, 2015 Share Anyone in the Cape in need of a new furry companion?? Roxy's owners were evicted and she needs a new home. She has been tested and has no nasties. I would take her on a heart beat but I can't. I wanted to foster her but I'm going up to Sutherland for the TK so I can't Little Fish

How about those with contacts in the medical world putting out feelers. Somewhere there must be an optalmologist dog lover willing to help. Worth a try? I am not sure if human ophthalmologists work on animals but there is only one animal specialist in South Africa located in Fourways. They have been known to give discounts in the past but they normally do that at the invoice stage not when quoting.

Wish I, or someone with the same goal in mind, could win the UK Lotto and lend a hand to all the shelters and animal in need out there. Are you going to ride the 94.7 for Husky Rescue again? For sure, entry and pledge form are already in, we actually need some more quite quickly as we can't register as a charity until we have 20 confirmed entries so if you are keen again?
