Just Keep Pedaling Posted October 10, 2011 Share The gears change due tension in the wire that goes from the shifter to the gears at the back. There are fine adjustments at the front and back. Turn these and see if it makes a differance. If that does not help, you need to loosen and reattach the wire. Search for Youtube video on setting your gears. ps - check that you did not bend your rear derailer by hitting it on something - this can also cause shifting problems. Zula Posted October 10, 2011 Share help me out here.. my gears on the rear cassette are not changing down to last last 2 small cogs? ive done nothing?XT front and rear derailer Could be one of three things 1. You have bent your hanger/derailer2. The cable is too tight and needs to be loosened a little via the barrel adjuster (unlikely)3. Your H setting has somehow jumped out of wack and needs to be reset For all of the above go onto youtube and read the how to repair tutorials on the parktool website. nickelass Posted October 10, 2011 Share dissconnect your cable at the derailer, pedal the bike,it must go to the small cog, if it does the fault is in the cable , very dirty maybe, or too much tension,if it still does not go down the low limit adajust screw on the derailer needs to be adjusted. To ajust the cable use the cable ajuster next to the shifter,if it is the cable, try lubeing the cable it can be as simple as that.
