AndreZA Posted November 1, 2011 Share People are very reluctant to pay money to learn arts or trades. I'm saving now to go end of 2012 or beginning of 2013 (depends on how saving comes along) to Holland or America to learn photo-realistic airbrushing. It's about R6000 for a 4 day course and then there is still traveling and accommodation. You can not put a price on knowledge.

Question ... are you doing this for yourself or would you eventually ply this into a business venture?

LeTurbo Posted November 1, 2011 Share It's about R6000 for a 4 day course ... You can not put a price on knowledge. I think you just did? But I'll forgive that if you send me on the frame-building course, and then I'll let you paint my first bike (the one I'm sending back here to Africa - but don't worry about that, because it'll be your first bike spray job too). My Dad was one of the first airbrush artists in the country, I think. Got a DeVilbus from an American artist who brought the new-fangled invention out here after WWII. Crook your finger around the lever, don't use the fingertip ... gives you better control of the down/back motion. That's all the incredible wisdom and experience I can add for today on this subject. I want to stop working and do art full time. I need to retire before I reach 45. Got 6 years to go. This is the course that was the past weekend and the lady is the instructor. The piece behind her is one of the student's. http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/387946_2327843567355_1587678751_2258217_1655739133_n.jpg This is work from the guy in America who taught the above mentioned lady. http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/302490_10150367989238521_604073520_8124927_154529872_n.jpg Edited November 1, 2011 by AndreZA
