Looking for GPS/HRM

Hey guys and girls

I'm looking for a new HRM/GPS bundle computer

Have a limited budget of R2000-00 max.

I like the Edge 500/Bryton35 bundles but they are a above of whatI can spend. I do races etc but most of the time just to enjoy the sport, nothing serious at the moment

I saw the Garmin Edge 605 on probikekit, anyone using this?

What else is there?

Thanks!!

The latest Tread mag had an article where they compared bryton and garmin.

Who's Bryton? haha

What device won the comparison?

Probikekit are having a 25th anniversary special at the moment. If you order before midnight GMT tonight, you get 15% off. Use the code 25PBKRW15.

You could get the Edge 500 bundle for less than R2400, including VAT and shipping etc. A bit over budget, but worth it, in my opinion.

I'd stay away from the Edge 605. It's at the end of it's life and lacks some key features like ANT+ support.

easybike is selling the edge 500 for R2300

It doesn't come with a HR strap, though. They've got the bundle for R2700.

Will the Bryton be able to load onto Sport tracks?

Dunno, in what format does the Bryton store its data in, SportTracks3 can handle the following formats.

*gpx,*.hrm,*.fitlog,*.pwx,*.hst,*.tcx,*.fit

Will the Bryton be able to load onto Sport tracks?

I got this from another site

Yet another link to a German ATB forum thread:

http://www.mtb-news.de/forum/showthread.php?t=487301

It contains a download link to a little prog. that can convert Bryton Rider enhanced GPX files to SportTracks fitlog format.

The first post in the thread describes how to obtain the Rider GPX files.

Cheers,

OMB

Thanks Guys. Also looking to get a new computer and so far it looks like the Bryton 50 is the best value for money.
