Pants Boy Posted February 1, 2012 Share Scout a couple of different routes by car. If it feels 'unsafe' in a car, don't try it by bicycle. Taxis, on the average, are MUCH friendlier to cyclists than motorists. When you stop next to one at a traffic light, make small talk - they drive the same route, day in and day out, mostly at the same times as well. Yeah, I wouldnt do it, Alrode is very busy and there are a number of refineries in the area so big tankers are common, but Heidelberg road through City Deep is murderous, its congested with container trucks, buses, cars, actually anything that moves, if I remember correctly someone got killed cycling through there recently, certainly not safe at all.
