she should swop bikes with the guy next to her. I feel sorry for his bike.

Was just about to ask, don't those carbon deep sections have a weight limit??

I don't care why she's doing it, it's important that she is doing it. Sends the right kind of messages. Any other politicos doing the ride ? (someone mentioned Juju on a tricycle, but I think that's bull)

If she looked that tired after doing 19km (according to the report), she is going to struggle with 109km :whistling:

But good on her. Only saw a lead motorcycle in the video clip, no "blue light brigade" escorting her.

Young man, I think her response will be something along the lines of HTFU, but then I'd be guessing. ;)

I'm sure she'll kick Juju and Jacob's arses on a bike.

By the way Luke anyone can kick CA1's arse on a bike. Its a Prius.

Covering the nine kilometres from Foreshore to the Zille household in 13 minutes, at an average speed of 43km an hour, he proved the virtue of the fable that pitted the hare against the tortoise: he won hands down.

Auspicious comments from the mayor:

Zille said she was inspired by the outcome and was considering cycling ... "I also have a bike and a helmet," she told the small crowd gathered at the finish line, on the corner of Woolsack and Main Road in Rosebank.

Are there other good clubs?? I am confused. :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

Funny how you post in obscurity, do you have (low and behold) an ulterior motive.

no not really, just thought it was an interesting choice to back considering the legal action they were involved in. Helen likes to be squeaky clean. In all likelihood she was probably just given the kit to go ride in (she does drive a prius, so maybe the toyota was a consideration).

Charity entries closed just the other day - think it was the 1st feb.

fair enough, i expect her to get special treatment anyway!

Chip on your shoulder big enough Steve ;)

nope, I thought by calling her 'tannie' people might have noticed that this was a light hearted post, but i clearly got it wrong.

Go Helen!

Tony Ehrenreich must be doing his nut: Helen had those cycle paths built just for herself.

Yip - now all she needs to do is touch him on his studio.

Vasbyt and good luck Mrs Zille! Its one of those "must do" Cape Town things.

(Btw, my 12 year old says that if you do a better time than him, he'll vote for you in 6 years from now.)

last time i checked the entries closed in october last year. Either she must have pulled some strings or has entered on an imperialist british passport.

Anyway, gooooood luck to her, i think she is going to get a lot of support and cheers and tough questions on the road. I wonder if her pr rep did enough research before deciding which club she should ride with

I suppose you're p.o.'d because the best your club could do was JZ and Julius? BTW, I expect Cycle Lab's new safety campaign coincides with her ideals...

You sound bitter. The "legal action" you mention was tossed out, with the Lab being only one of about 20 respondents...
