Coffee machine

Recommended Posts

Good Grief all.......thanks for all the info!!  Ok I will digest and then see where my Coffee Tastes fit in and then proceed from there!! :w00t:

The world of coffee is a real rabbit hole - its deep and dark and never ends.

Just as you start learning stuff, you realise how little you know!

And that's the awesome part.

But it can be intimidating and gets very expensive (like starting cycling, choosing a bike and accessories and then getting into the upgrade cycle).

What is for sure, is that you walk into the shop with a very specific and limited budget and end up spending quite a bit more.

But we are so happy you did!!!

I have been frustratingly busy, and have not been there since January....Everytime I pass there I want to stop, but I'm forever chasing minutes....

Does anyone know where to find spares for the Rancilio Rocky grinders with doser.

Looks like my cam spring is on its way out. The blades don’t always turn when the lever is pulled to dispense the ground coffee.

It’s a $5.00 part from what i can see.

That's a fairly broad question, but you could start window shopping here : https://localgrind.co.za

Where in Cape Town are you ?

I must say that I am enjoying my current bag of Deluxe, but that's nearly finished, so will get a bag of Bob's Damn Fine Coffee in Kalk Bay.

Bootleggers roast their own beans and the shops are fairly well spread out.

I have really enjoyed Dirk's coffee from Stellenbosch: https://www.instagram.com/balance_coffee_roastery/?hl=en

And these guys in Hermanus have been a great discovery too: https://mikrocoffeeco.co.za/

Looks like these guys are the agents:  http://www.windtrade.co.za/

Otherwise these guys could probably point you in the right direction : https://capecoffeebeans.co.za/

(but they are in Cape Town - I am sure there are suppliers closer to you)

There are more than 300 coffee roasters in Cape Town.

So wherever you live, you are bound to be able to find fresh beans near you.
