Hi JGR

05h39. Finally after 10 x 70.3's I finally broke 6 hours!!

Was a fast course but a lot longer than the previous Midlands course.

Had the best day of my racing career by far. Now to repeat everything I did for the last week before every race!

How did Seeker go?

I did a 6h41 would have liked it to be closer to 6h00 maybe next time. Managed to get a bad calf cramp on the swim leg. Good thing I can swim and did not panic. I was not as quick as I would have liked as a result but managed to finish ok. The weather was perfect for racing. Organization was good I did not see any drafting of any sort and refs seemed busy with trivial matters. Not sure how the timing works but the results say I was marginally slower than you on the swim but I am damn sure I saw come past me at the start of the cycle leg.

Apparently I ran a 5 hour half marathon... Not too bad..

Well, you had a 3h32 swim

I can imagine you must have been exhausted on the run.

Crap, I got the Abu Dhabi Tri on the 2nd of March. Maybe if Etihad Airways opens a direct flight from Abu Dhabi to Midmar I will make it?

What did the flight cost you? Could be a fun trip

R6.500 round trip direct flights to Abu Dhabi. You basically land 10km's from the start line. 8 hour flight straight during the day so no jetlag.

Hey Brad, I hope they have a slowmow spidercam shot tonight of the Garf completing the pass of the Brad and his missus at midmar whistling.gif ......

Yip, 3rd Of March. Not sure about the direct flights... but we had better see you in September!

Sure.... just make sure there are plenty of new "prey" and the Garf will be there. I like fresh meat.

Once you pay for your entry they send you 2 special discount links for flights and hotels. It makes it quite affordable....
