Matt Posted June 27, 2012 Share Johannesburg, 23 June 2012 - MTN South Africa and Think Bike announced today a new partnership that sees MTN as the new telecommunications partner of the Think Bike safety and awareness campaign. A campaign from the 80s, revived in 2005 and officially a Section 21 company (non‐profit) from 2009, Think Bike is a Marshalling initiative driven by volunteers which seeks to raise road safety awareness for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike. Serame Taukobong Chief Marketing Officer at MTN SA says ”As MTN, We are proud sponsors of Team MTN Qhubeka and a variety of cycling events to showcase our commitment towards developing Cycling as a sport and empowering the local communities we operate in. The lack of safety on our roads is probably one of the primary factors which hamper the growth of cycling as a sport in South Africa and this partnership is a perfect fit to ensure safety for our cyclists” The campaign is contracted to MTN Club 100 & Cycle Lab for weekly services in Gauteng, and provides regular marshals to events such as 94.7 Cycle Challenge, 702‐Walk‐the‐Talk, Die Burger, Aca Joe Pro Classic Series, Toyrun, funeral escorts, Bible Run etc. “Think Bike is pleased and proud to be associated with MTN South Africa through this partnership, we are confident that this partnership will help us continue providing safe roads for all people who use our roads daily.” says Réhann Coetzee Director and Spokesperson of Think Bike Click here to view the article Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
