Dirt Tracker Posted May 28, 2019 Share Ja I also understand it to be the whole bike wrt the description, if not it would be pretty steep. If I was not building something else already I would have got this for sure. Blerrie nice! Great deal then, I read it wrong, thanks for clearing it up. Great deal though if you're a giant! Sparky and the Warden Posted May 29, 2019 Share yeah, they can try put whatever bs spin on those linkage design, in the end of the day it's just an unnecessary/useless design to get past the spez patent. Can you elaborate? Not really sure how they are similar...
stefmeister Posted May 29, 2019 Share Can you elaborate? Not really sure how they are similar...It’s essentially a horst link design, but they circumvented the patent rights by adding the so-called 4 by linkage between the seatstay and the rocker link. Specialized owns the patent to the horst link design and you’d have to pay royalties to them if you wanted to use it. Well up until its recent patent expiry. That extra linkage in the Knolly serves no other purpose, unless you want to believe their marketing bs and are a fan of unnecessary added complexity and weight. Although they have different shock arrangements, surely that makes some sort of difference in terms of performance? I would like to see one of those moving diagrams that show the rear wheel path of both setups... I'd be interested to see how different they are or whether it's pretty much same same but different
