Your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries. I fart in your general direction.

(better?)

Edit: Insulted the wrong bloke. But SSG, you're welcome to include yourself too...

 Hahahaha.....

Ah, finally we have the beginning of a cheap insultfest. That's more like it.....

Thought I give some feedback - I was on flats using 5.10's for the last year and really enjoyed my MTB'ing - I think I would have stayed with flats but the area I am living in (North-West, Potch area) is more XC orientated than anything else (wished I stayed in a place with more trails\DH)

I made the switch to SPD's and so-far I am not regretting it - I can see using my Edge that I am faster vs my flats - I think the year on flats taught me to be a better rider which is making me more relax/comfortable being strapped in on the bike with cleats now - I still have my flats and will use them again for the days I get to ride crazy/fun trails.

Had those and hard to get to grips with clip less . Somehow never sure wether it's your clipin issue or you are trying to clip in wrong side !! End up looking a pedals not ahead !

Spd the way to go

They don't. But Sam Hill does, and he wins.

Yap. And the only reason they ride clipless is because of the pedaling sections. For pure control over a bike (ie the two races Sam won this year) flat pedals are the way to go.

I ride with Nukeproof Neutrons (same as Sam Hill). I enjoy my riding 100 times more than what I used to clipped in. Even if that means my Strava times suffer a little under pedaling.

Reading this topic has been somewhat of a letdown (or eye opener?).

I bought some Gaerne G.Cosmo shoes ahead of getting my bike. First-time SPD user! I hope I survive...

Since I should fit in now all that's left is to get branded clothes! /sarcasm

Day 1 down as a first-time SPD user. Went way better than expected - in fact, I enjoyed the experience. On a trail it might be a different story...

Edit: seem to be unclipping fine, impasses, crashes, etc. Digging it.
