GrantK24 Posted August 26, 2013 Share Have got to give 'Props' to Northern Farm... I love the place .I know its not the most tech place to ride and the singletrack is not as good as some other places on the (011) but it is AWESOME.I can do some distance offroad in a safe environment for R30 (single access) No matter how many people are there, it still doesn't feel 'busy' There are a couple climbs to test the legs Open fast sections Wildlife & Birds Can take a novice there without them feeling intimidated by the routes Never had anyone flying past me 'racing' for a Strava segments Bacon & Egg rolls There is MUD Its only 15kms from Fourways Can ride a good couple km's on the open flat section with my 3 year old lightyI could probably go on all day Well done Northern Farm Tjokkits, mac vegas, Wet Ears and 4 others

Honkdonk Posted August 26, 2013 Share +1 I think they are having some drainage issues. It is a waste water treatment facility after all. You will see further towards the top of the farm they have been dredging some of canals, and I think it has caused some overflow that has seeped into the ground and as a result is finding its way to the surface in the areas down by the Jukskei. Nasty stuff.. I like doing the long route with a few additions thrown in to get a good 70km in. Not the most technical but its a good enough test in a safe environment. Nice one on the new route markers as well! GrantK24

I am just not sure where you get #3 Not exactly leg busters, but that step climb (don't know what is called?) can hurt at pace and if you ride after the single track river section all the way up to the open road? Maybe the climbs are not that hectic for the super fit or the pro's

El Scorcho Posted August 26, 2013 Share It's called Interval Hill, it's not the worst but I don't really look forward to it either To go from the single track up to the open road is a bit of a slog too. Having said that, I'm not too fit so...
Guest The Bushpig Posted August 26, 2013 Share Only ridden there once, a week ago(after many years in GP; shameful, Yes, I know. ). It's a lekker venue for a relaxed ride with the Madam and the Medium offspring. Nice trail markers. Worth getting a multi-entry ticket.
