BrianMTB Posted October 27, 2013 Share Will definitely be there! Also great idea to get it announced at the Nissan trailseeker on the 2nd. Question though. Will it be wise to bring along the family? Wife and daughter who are social riders? I'm bringing my Fiancé. I don't think we plan on breaking any speed records. I'd say the more people the better. Bring everyone you can. Bianchi Posted October 27, 2013 Share Hi Everybody, we want to organise a rally from Mooikloof (Drafters) to Garsfontein police station and hand over demands to the police and Tswane municipality on the 3rd of November. Rally will properly start at 10:00am, about 10-15km, will organise police escorts for safety of cyclists. You should remember that east of Hans Strijdom and north of Garsfontein is actually in Boschkop's jurisdiction. Also, please ensure that you obtain permission from the Tshwane metro for this - the Gauteng Traffic Police are being very anal and they are situated just off Hans Strijdom so they're close by. Matt street, the vacinity where the incidents all happened, according to Captain Steenkamp of the Garsfontein police station is the dividing line of the police jurisdiction. On the Mooikloof side of Matt street where my incident happened is Boschkop police station's jurisdiction and on the Woodlands side of Matt street is Garsfontein police station's jurisdiction. That's why Garsfontein sent me to Boschkop to report the incident. I agree on the permission, that has to be obtained.

Yeah the boundary lines are a little weird and half the cops don't know where it is, so if Steenkamp said that then I've learnt something new. (ie HS/Lynnwood road intersection, splits Silverton/Boschkop/Garsfontein areas, and no party wants to take responsibility for an accident there ) Hi Everyone, There is a new Cyclist Protection System in South Africa. Click on the link below to see the video and order your product right now. With every purchase of this product, you will receive a FREE demo class from GOLANI Israeli Serurity Specialists. http://www.golaniprotect.co.za/Pepper spray and a baton is a VERY bad idea as protection from someone pointing a firearm at you.Your product is also slightly overpriced. Trelawney Posted October 28, 2013 Share What's the thinking on what to hand over to the police ? Assume also that the police need advance warning so there is some one senior there to accept it ?
Bianchi Posted October 29, 2013 Share What's the thinking on what to hand over to the police ? Assume also that the police need advance warning so there is some one senior there to accept it ? You can request [ask nicely] that Lt Colonel Solomons be there to accept it. Or well it's either him, or you'll have to ask that Captain Steenkamp be there. It is mentioned in the original post / invitation, that there would be police escorts... surely if there is then the authorities are available? Forgive my ignorance if this is not that case... jagwil Posted October 29, 2013 Share Picture of a ride we organised in Centurion some years back. Impressive but no real results.Despite being invited and agreeinghttp://cdncache1-a.akamaihd.net/items/it/img/arrow-10x10.png to attend the SAPS failed and/or refused to pitch up. Druffster Posted October 29, 2013 Share Hi Everyone, please note that this mass ride has been POSTPONED until further notice. Manie Naude spoke to Capt Steenkamp from the Garsfontein prolice station today and we have to follow the correct procedures. We are going to meet with Capt Steenkamp first because they are in fact investigating the matter. Please DO NOT attend the mass ride on Sunday.
