There is a pre-challenge ride involved so that I can at least have some fun before pumping away like a maniac!

I like your confidence

Dont break my valve as I dont have another spare...

Does your pomp have a little pipe thingamajiggy?

Ive seen that wanking motion break a valve off before

Super_mil, if this is happening during the weekend it will be price-, time-, ego- and goo-less. The buzz word is PPRRRREEEEEESSSSSSHHHHHHHUUURE!!!!

When my recently tubeless wheels kept going flat, and I decided pumping it up to a higher pressure would cause the stans to seal the holes nicely - instead the tyre shot off the rim, sparying the walls, floor and me with stans. Positive being that I found my neighbors actually cares about me when they came rushing - to find me standing there covered in stans, with the dog barking at me - must've looked like we were shooting a bukkake scene in some porno..

Pump has a flexible pipe so your valve should survive.

Definitely happening.

Pressure??? Not me, as it's not my wheel that's going to be flat if this doesn't work :whistling:

I think the real winner here will be beer

Got a WhatsApp from rouxtjie...

Play suspended/cancled due to rain

I guess we'll never know is a tire can be seated by a hand pump know.

Can't say that I'm too upset.

Will probably take a roll up the Spruit regardless.

Damn......was looking forward to this one Groenies next time (because if that doesn't work out, Fort Klapperkop (3-4 times) is around the corner). Now I can go clean (further) and service bike after Serengeti MTB yesterday!

Was this ever taken any further or did it all just end un a huge amout of " smashing lagers"?

It wasn't but the lagers still need to be smashed.

One thing we can do to remove all doubt about this hand pump story is ask Eldron what a bastard my rear tyre was to seat with his compressor after dinner a few weeks back... When Eldron says the F word, things are not normal, we eventually got it seated. 5 bar pressure in the tank and some praying, 10 seconds later it was on

I have found in the past when battling to seat new tyres that it is important to create the highest possible flow rate for air into the valve. Normally just removing the core is sufficient but in some cases I have even had to remove the valve clamp from the compressor line and just slip the hose over the valve stem. Then the tyres popped into place very easily.

If you tyre keeps De-rimming, just ask your bike shop for a Rim job. That should sort you out......
