Hi everyone,

My Giant Anthem X Advanced 29er 1 2013 was stolen at Varsity College in Rondebosch(near the library) on Thursday at around lunchtime.

Bike description:

  • Has Continental tires(Xking and mountainking)
  • a few paint chips;
  • a white bottle cage;
  • has a tube duct-taped to the seats stem;
  • grips are very worn;
  • and some blue duck-tape, near the chain area

Other than that it is standard:

Could you guys keep an eye out in the area for it! I will give a cash reward to anyone able to return this bike!!

Any help will be much appreciated!!

Ai ***.

What is the typical profile of a bike thief there.

A bergie.............. a opportunistic poor student ?

Have you asked VC if they have any security footage as we have camera's and campus security at every entrance and exit?

Must be cam footage in that kind of area?

How was the bike secured? That's not really the bike to chain outside the library and expect it to still be there when you come out again...

But either way a very sad loss, hope it turns up

I have, unfortunately he left early because of the long-weekend. So I will only be able to view the footage on Monday.

I used the library as a "landmark", not the actual place where it was secured.

All is well that ends well, bike was insured, so hopefully I get a new one soon :)
