I have an optimate, either 3 or 4 i cant remember.

Its a trickle charger and it works a treat. Highly recommended.

Can in some cases resurrect a battery depending on condition too.

Can use it on any application really but the lower numbers more for motorcycles. (ie optimate 2,3,4 )

Sorry, just imagined you and the toppie commuting to the shop on the bike, what a sight that would be... [emoji23][emoji2957][emoji15]

I have an Optimate 3+ but have changed to a "Lithium Iron" battery (I am too lazy to check the detail) on one bike so considering a charger that can top up those. Battery much smaller and lighter and, so far works like er, a bomb (sic).  Should need less topping up as well.

So on this cold wet "winter's day" in the Western Cape I'm stuck inside partially on account of the weather and partially due to arc eyes.[emoji43]

In light of that, I thought I'd share a couple of pics from last Sundays bike ride.

A friend of mine recently got into motorcycling again by means of a Triumph Tiger 800. We met each other halfway between Worcester and Oudshoorn at Ronnie's Sex Shop where they let us use the braai facilities for the day.7efb9a4af96c068030b5d712384dd179.jpg291398574e7a2fb380ced50d5124a87c.jpg1e1d5d8e9337185d4d58003400625d6f.jpg91684305153bdd1eea00053414d71781.jpg

These RZ350 wheels/mags is up for grabs.

Properly cleaned, sanded down and alu rust removed. Self priming etch/undercoat applied with a few coats of Satin Black spray paint. Lips not polished (new owner can do that himself  ;) )

Speedo drive serviced and greased. Working properly (rare to find this in working order)

Wheels running 100% true, and only a few small dings on the rims.

Needs a new set of Cush Drive Rubbers (there should be 3 x in total, only one currently in wheel). No brake disc, axle  or chainring on back wheel.

Soooooo.  I while back I posted my 125LC on FB to sell it.  I wasn't really using it because it was very original so I didn't want to spoil it, and I was hankering after an A/C DT175 that I could play with and do some modifications on.  I had some interest, but I soon realised that most people want 1) DT/RZ50's because that's what they had at school, and 2) when they turned 17 and got "big bike" licences, they went straight for bigger bikes.  So the DT125LC isn't really on anyone's radar (unless you owned one, which not many did).  There's also quite a few nice 125LC's out there - so while mine is nice and original, it is a bit tatty and people either want R10k bikes which they can fix up themselves, or R30k bikes which are already restored.  My R15K bike is somewhere in between.  There's also a glut of red and white bikes, so mine kind of gets lost in the herd.  So what to do?

I have 2/3rds of another LC, which importantly includes a spare tank, rear mudguard, seat, plastics, and a few other pieces - which is important to this story, because If I can't sell the DT I might as well scrap the 175 idea (they are overpriced anyway) and do something radical with this one.  So yesterday I pulled the trigger on the first of a few parts which I'm hoping will turn my cooking DT into something really different.  DC plastics here we come.....

Aaaaand as things usually work, shortly after posting this message and getting my head around turning my 125 yellow, I find this in Potch.  Which followed me home about two weeks ago.

So change of plan - the 175 will now become a YZ replica.

(cue my best Siri impersonation) "Ok, here is what I have found so far"

Engine has had a hard life - needs a complete rebuild

Someone has been abusing the clutch

The tank has a hole in it

Plastics are not great

Sigh.....
