Also used most of my savings (maybe a not so clever move) to buy the rights to sell and install a liquid rubber product similar to the well known Ecorubber, in Western Cape. Good product, good business model, but bad timing, as product can't be applied in the wet, for obvious reasons. Luckily lots of peeps are now wanting to have their leaking roofs sorted out, so lots of interest in my product and services. Due to the rain we're having, I'm unfortunately sitting at home, banging away at the keyboard, and not on roofs making money. Lol.... Yeah roofing and air conditioning is very seasonal in Gauteng too. Wannabe
Hairy Posted July 4, 2021 Share So I drove my car for the first time in a VERY long time to site on Saturday morning, as it would not have been a good idea to be on the roads with a motorbike in the bad weather we had. It is so strange, you start the car and pull it out the driveway and wonder if the engine is actually running ............... and then you drive and wonder if the brakes are on as there is so little power and acceleration I need a faster car and louder exhaust ! WaynejG Posted July 4, 2021 Share We went out in terrible weather yesterday to help a youngster out with her photography portfolio. Gale winds blew the Triumphs and the Blade around. The Harley's just shrugged the wind off. Duane_Bosch, IceCreamMan and Andrew_Smith

I truly hope you have something to fall back on. I lost my job end of December (instead of the expected small Bonus, I got a dear John letter instead) Since then I've been looking for other gainful employment, with no success (too old, too white and too Afrikaans, lol.....) Still fighting with UIF to just acknowledge my claim or to give me an indication if and when I can expect a payout. Used most of my savings to survive up to now, and also trying to get a new business established. But hey, I've managed to keep all my accounts up to date, and food on my table, so I can't complain, there is a lot of people worse of than me. Best of luck for you going forward. Been trying to DM you, but on this new Hub, I'm not sure if you're getting my messages, as I cannot find the sent messages, would like to chat about a potential opportunity! Andrew_Smith Posted July 6, 2021 Share Seems that things turned out for the better (really thankful for this). The bit of play on the crankshaft/flywheel is apparently normal according to the manual of the bike - 0.30mm to 0.50mm tolerance allowed. We did ask for an opinion at BMW Stellenbosch, so the alternator also has a small bearing that counters for it. We should just monitor it but for time being, the bike must be ridden and enjoyed! New stator was fitted and indeed working as confirmed today with my friend's voltmeter - the alternator is finally charging the battery! The next challenge is to get a new bike stand since it broke off. I know of Rockfox that specialises in stuff like this, will make a stop at them to ask if they can assist. Now to get my confidence levels back. Edited July 6, 2021 by Andrew_Smith Danger Dassie, Wannabe, WaynejG and 6 others
IceCreamMan Posted July 6, 2021 Share Passed MOT. No advisories. Back on the road after 25 years. Goes 30 mph as restricted here. About 20 mph up hills but it’s a gas. Andrew_Smith, RocknRolla and Wannabe

Hairy Posted July 6, 2021 Share Went to meet with a client on site, pulled up on the HD and a little after he pulled up on his Honda Valkyrie .... I regret not taking a pic of the two bikes parked next to eachother! Was also fun leaving with him and riding part of the way back ... have not purposely ridden with another rider yet. It was also my first "night ride" .... what a feeling, and you can smell the ground and ocean so much more in the cold crisp air, I wanted to just keep going. It also turns out that sound travels a little further in the evening when things quite down before curfew, so the wife heard me coming and made sure to open the garage door for me and have a cup of tea ready .... must of heard me a little way off then Left Woodstock at 8pm and back home in Sunningdale by 8:20pm ... would not do that sort of time in a car . . Not his bike, but a ref pic Edited July 6, 2021 by Hairy on a Davidson Danger Dassie, Andrew_Smith, WaynejG and 2 others
