Rata Del Spruit Posted June 6, 2014 Share That is damn sexy, cool to see the single pivot design again. Not to sound like a roadie but… any indication of the weight of the bike in that setup? Edited June 6, 2014 by Rata Del Spruit

nigelhicks Posted June 6, 2014 Share That is damn sexy, cool to see the single pivot design again. Not to sound like a roadie but… any indication of the weight of the bike in that setup? Ya its pretty hefty .... Nico said that a light bike is bull for DH ... From Dirt Mags review Aside from the development angle the feeling the use of aluminium, Vouilloz cited the feeling that an aluminium bikes gives over a carbon one. The reactivity and and feedback through a downhill bike is an important factor and right now Lapierre feel aluminium is the right stuff for the job. Super light downhill bikes don’t seem to be high on Nico’s agenda too, the consumer is going to crash and the twisting forces imparted by triple clamp forks are a threat to the integrity of a frame. He would prefer to have a frame that will last and building this one from aluminium makes sense to him and Lapierre.Read more at http://dirtmountainbike.com/featured/fresh-produce-2015-lapierre-team-dh-bike.html#zvDkv3UcTGTsdi23.99 Frame weight is about 4.3kg??? http://www.vitalmtb.com/product/feature/First-Look-2015-Lapierre-DH,260 Rata Del Spruit

nigelhicks Posted June 6, 2014 Share Doesn't really do it for me. Is that because it sort of looks like a GT Fury??? http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/109/photos/22523/s1600_fury_alloy.jpg?1308813462
Guest Omega Man Posted June 6, 2014 Share Is that because it sort of looks like a GT Fury???Dunno. I just don't like the look of it. Which is odd cos it's it does have some similarities to my DHR which i think is stunning.

Headshot Posted June 6, 2014 Share Most DH bikes look a tad bizarre, rather than ugly - something to do with the frame shape to accommodate all that travel and super slack head angles. This Lapierre is fine, no more odd looking than the rest :-)
rock Posted June 18, 2014 Share Didn't Vouilloz have one of the lightest DH bikes when he was racing? U-turn or are top DH bikes just that much lighter than his was 10 years ago? I spy a dura ace rear derailleur http://www.mtb-mag.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Vouilloz-VProcess-NV01-2001.jpg
