Watched Avengers: AOU, but was left a tad underwhelmed.

Don't get me wrong, I love the MCU, but I felt that Ultron wasn't as threatening as he could've been. Also, fighting hordes of robots was too similar to the final battle of the first installment where they fought off hordes of aliens. I think it is worth a re-watch - there is a lot going on in the movie.

There is a lot of geek porn in this film. Those who know the source material will know what I'm talking about.

When Vision picked up Mjilnir.

That was a collective OMFS.

Just to cheese Stretch off.

Thought about Avengers: AOU again and I think it suffers from the same problem that Iron Man 2 did - it felt like a stop-gap movie, that exists simply to move the universe along and introduce new characters.

I have a strong feeling that Captain America: Civil War (2016) is going to be epic!

Yup absolutely agree. Winter soldier was, for me, the best movie I saw last year so hoping the same rings true for Civil war.

Haven't watched AOU yet. Will probably wait for it to come out on DVD. But yeah, Civil War will be epic.

well, if you stayed beyond the end of the movie you'd have seen the truth of that statement. They're all one big endless story, and you also have to tie it into the Agents of SHIELD series to get the full effect of it. Latest AOS episode started on the success of the Avengers at that town that was lifted so damn high. They dovetail so nicely...

True. Everything is slowly building up to Avengers: Infinity Wars, as we'll see that Thanos has been pulling strings since the start of the MCU.

Haven't seen the latest AOS episode. I recently binge-watched Netflix's Daredevil and that really ruined me for all other superhero-based series. It's just so damn good! Feels like an HBO show.

IT DOES!!!

Flash, though, is a close 2nd. AOS is a bit (okay, a LOT) cheesy. Flash is a bit better, and has a solid storyline.

But re Daredevil - if that's how Netflix is going to do their series from now on, I'm hooked. Can't wait for the new season...

Keep your eyes peeled, as Netflix is also developing AKA Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, all of which will lead up to a Defenders cross-over series with Daredevil. AKA Jessica Jones is based on the Marvel MAX (think of it as Marvel's R18 comics) imprint ALIAS. If you've read that, you'll get an idea of what to expect - an ex-superhero working as a PI who has some serious issues.

They need to keep these series dark, gritty and somewhat realistic.

Well, if you're a Marvel fan, they are doing a "soft reboot" of the universe with the Secret Wars cross over event this month. So that'll give you the chance to get back in the swing of things. Choose a few titles and torrent them (or buy them, if you can find them in SA). Easy peasy.

Don't know whether the reboot will be as far reaching as DC's New 52.

I dunno, eh. Been reading up on it and apparently the back-story has been building up to SW over several titles for a number of years. So if anything I need to start from the very beginning, but that's more than 80 years of history...

I almost need one of those MARVEL coffee table books as a sort of high-level summary of the history of the Multiverse and each character's involvement. THEN start SW.

Whew.
